Hey, I guess this is a different thing, but I was at a Wherehouse the other day in San Diego and saw Jewel on the cover of this thing called "Launch". The title was "Jewel Will Save Your Soul" and it costs $10.00. She was on the cover and I forget who else was on it, but I think it's a promotional thing for not only Jewel, but a lot of other groups/I think some computer company. There's supposed to be some live video clips of Jewel and 311 on it, so, I'm guessing she's singing WWSYS. I don't have a computer to download it, so I don't think I'll buy it, and I just thought maybe if someone had access to download it would want it. So, if anyone wants it, I saw it at the Wherehouse for ten bucks. :) pruiz@sdcc14.ucsd.edu ------------------------------ From: pjk@cybercom.net (Phil Kelnhofer) Date: Wed, 6 Nov 1996 15:17:42 -0400 Subject: Re: jewel-digest V1 #739 >From: Karl M Fields >After I listened to the JewelStock tapes a few times I also picked up on >the underlying "Country" feel to the music. Once they start calling Jewel "country" and other "country" performers fit in with her, then I'll stop saying I don't like country. :P As far as pop is concerned, I think people just throw that label on her because of her soft tones in her music, but I still think that is a really bad label because it would only fit a few of her songs. I'd go for alternative-folk with a poppy sound and an occasional country offset. :> Gerrit - -- "Rowe's Rule: The odds are six to five that the light at the end of the tunnel is the headlight of an oncoming train." - Paul Dickson ------------------------------ From: Leave the shadows dancing Date: Wed, 06 Nov 1996 14:55:58 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Not sure if this went out.. don't think it did.. :) Phil wrote: :> I know she calls "Summer Home in Your Arms" a country song.
