I really do not want to sell it but would like a CD of Phyllis Barnabee or any CD format rarity of Eleanor McEvoy. Anyone want to trade? D.C. area prefered so we can avoid mailing but anywhere is US is possible. There is a catch: This CD lacked the tray card but did have the front literature (single sheet). On the morning of that Orioles game(August 29,1995), Jewel did stop by WHFS to do a few songs & an interview. This is the appearance a few weeks before the Wizard of Oz taping (& the one where you remember being able to win tickets) On this show was an interview as well as live performances of "WWSYS" & "Everything Breaks" <> The 1996 appearance (JPT) occurred on May 19th & thats right around the 9:30 Club appearance that you remember(2 days prior on May 17th). On this show was also an interview (where they mention the Orioles Game being on her last visit) & includes live performances of "Impromptu WHFS Song", "WWSYS", "Angel Standing By","Near You Always", "Memoirs Of A Housewife" & "Rocker Girl". Both of these shows are on the "Radio Angels" tape. They are two completely different appearances, though. Make sense? <> The October entry was simply a mistake which I think has been deleted, now. Hope I'm making sense to those who care about these things. Please send any comments or suggestions on improving the chronology my way. MINUTIA! Especially the JewelStock version. I'm sitting here right now, trading dozens of "two sentence" EMAILs with the list goddess, listening to "Pieces of You". "Don't" just came on. God, that's a beautiful song....one that doesn't get much mention when people list their top 5 or so Jewel songs. I remember being at JewelStock Thursday night. It was my first Jewel concert. Patty Griffin blew me away. Then out came Jewel. Poetry, then "Don't". I was hooked in right then and there. She forever became my favorite musical artist with the first few notes of that song off of her guitar. Is it just me or was that really the perfect song to open that night with? Would I be saying the same thing about "1000 Miles Away" if she had opened with that instead? I just don't know. Anyone else? It's just that every time I listen to JS Tape 1 Side A, that very first song really brings back the magic of those 2.5 days. No other song on those tapes quite does it the same for me. Well, OK. When Jewel says "God damn ye Harris Brothers!", yeah, that is a special fond memory too. But "Don't" is EXTRA special. Mike ------------------------------ From: Spump@gnn.com (A. This is wrong. It can't be right. Let me explain. 1) Radio Angels was made and treed before May 17th. No way could JPT have been recorded on then and made it onto the tree. 2)JPT is often repeated (especially for popular artists) such as Sarah McLachlan's appearance. And I have friends in Maryland who have said that Jewel's show has been aired several times, including that weekend of the 19th, but also before. 3)Someone posted back around January or so, that they had the Jewel show (as well as Sarah, Tori, Belly, Heather Nova, and Joan Osborne) on dat and was willing to record it for people onto two tapes for $15. 4) I'm pretty sure that the show happened around the time of the 9:30 club show or the Bohager's show in Baltimore. we could always call up WHFS and ask:) Paul Kim ------------------------------ From: MistyBC@aol.com Date: Mon, 28 Oct 1996 00:08:09 -0500 Subject: NJC: Jewel, Eponine, Lea & stuff hi everyone!!!! =D wow, my second post! first, i wanna thank everyone who emailed me...you made me feel so welcome!
