When I first bought the album, I thought she was cute in a Minnie Mouse kind of way. After I had fallen in love with the music did I start to think that she really was a very lovely lady. It came from her maturity, her personality, her mannerisms. Now, my brother thinks I have some kind of obsession with her. Not true, but I think she is very worthy of obsession for anyone who wants to devote that kind of time to somebody they never met. - Mark ------------------------------ From: musicismylife@kktv.com Date: Sat, 19 Oct 1996 20:42:44 -0500 Subject: REQ:Lyrics to a buncha songs Hey pplz, its me again (wow 2 posts in one day am I kool or what?!). can i get the lyrics for: Innocence Maintained Angel Needs A Ride Race Car Driver Nikos Satellite 1000 Miles Away Fragile Flame Run Tonto Run and finally....... This is Sherra. Well, to comment on the Jewel/looks thingie....I think its stupid to judge anyone for their looks. I mean, Jewel IS beautiful (this coming from me, a straigt-as-an-arrow kinda gurl),and its not the physical aspect I'm talking about, here. I'm talking about Jewel as a mature, loving person. nd that shes a girl doesn't help either. =) we are great..(chelsea just said to me "and the lefties will overcome you righthanded assholes!!" and looked at me and started giggling......a very chelsea thing to do, for those of you who aren't close to her) But neways......Jewel has a wonderful voice that once you are listening to her, you can't help but get sucked in by. The first time I heard Race Car Driver (at the moment my fave song) I knew that this one was going to be around for quite a long time because her voice just radiates warmth, and emanates talent and maturity. Well.....I'mnot sure what that had to do with anything. But I'm rambling. (Chelsea is still giggling about the leftie joke, for those of you wondering) Bye Chelsea and Sherra ------------------------------ From: heggink@bsuvc.bsu.edu Date: Sat, 19 Oct 1996 17:36:26 -0500 (EST) Subject: Indy people: Jewel on x103 tomorrow I just heard an announcement on the radio that X103's mroning show tomorrow (that will be Sunday) will have new material from Jewel. My guess is that they will play YWMFM, but maybe it is some great song that has remained hidden from us for all this time that will only be played once... I would love it if you could send me some more information concerning any part of Jewel's life and music career. Most importantly, please tell me if you know how I could get ahold of Jewel's unreleased music--I can't seem to download any of it from the internet! I'm a student at Indiana University and I'll be waiting for a response! - --Meredith Mira (mmira@indiana.edu) ------------------------------ From: PAUL KYUSAM KIM Date: Sun, 20 Oct 1996 00:37:36 -0400 (EDT) Subject: NJC BST drunk kids NJC= non jewel content BST= bullshit thread why am I bothering you with this? well, FTE is always a nice place to rant where people understand you. EDA is full of young people around my age who probably know what I'm talking about (not that the older people are clueless or anything *grin*). So. I'm working in the campus center tonight. 9 pm-2am shift. A girl threw-up on the carpet outside of my office and the emergency people had to take her to the hospital at UMass. She's a freshman here at Amherst. I don't know her. I had to clean up the vomit and sanitize the area. Ugh. Nothing compared to what the doctors and nurses out there have to do, but still, I'm just a student/building manager. I'm not supposed to deal with these things. A sophomore I know (we lived in the same dorm last year) was with the girl the whole time. She called the emergency response team that is student run, but a campus cop came. She didn't know what to do (she didn't want to admit that the girl had been drinking and that she was underage), but accepted his help anyways. He got the emergency people here. The girl was very out of it, although she was kind of coherent (she actually sounded like a guy, her voice was so deep and slurred). She had trouble sitting in her chair and actually fell out of her chair right before she vomited. What the hell is up with this? Why do people my age and younger (and older) imbibe to an excess, making themselves ill and threatening their lives (secondary causes of course, like choking on their own vomit or driving while intoxicated)? And why drink in the first place? Rhetorical questions there. With so many possible answers. I guess I'm glad that I don't have to deal with this type of stuff every weekend. One of the benefits of having no life (other than the computer and my cat). Paul "distressed" kim ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V1 #693 ***************************
