I miss a day or two of posts and all sorts of cool stuff comes up. Steve, James, and whoever else. I'm a Pisces, man. The first album I ever bought was the Beatles red double album. Bought it at Meijer's when I was, like, ten. My first CD was Tears For Fears, the Shout album (can't remember the real title right now, but it was a favorite for quite a while.) My most consistent old favorites, that I always go back to when I'm feeling sad, are 'Til Tuesday - Voices Carry - Welcome Home Suzanne Vega - Solitude Standing I admit they're not necessarily sparkling gems of music, but I really became attached to them. Tracy Chapman's new album will almost certainly join their ranks in my heart. And the Innocence Mission's album "glow" is pretty good too. Oh yes, and of course Rare Angels by the one and only. I could go on and on and then you might get a good picture of me, but I'll stop. Oh yeah, King Missile is hilarious. Those guys are comics, poets, philosophers, all rolled into one. And I really used to like Metallica when I was a young and angry lad, but my metal period is mostly a thing of the past. Well, I better stop writin' and start readin'. Gotta find the JS leaf post. I know I've forgotten someone (I'm going totally from memory of my 150+ cd collection) I think the other reason is because I don't listen to whole cd's much, I only listen to a song or two then move on to the next cd. So, it's hard to pick *A* cd by any of my favorite artists. In addition, nowadays I find myself listening to bootlegs as often as, if not moreso than, my cd's. In this arena of music appreciation, I would have no trouble deciding on my essential listening selections (probably due to the more limited scope to choose from, but anyway).
