I don't know if there are any left at the cd store, but I can ask if anyone's interested. Only about 5 months 'till her new album!!! Yayyyyyy!!!!! I went home last weekend to celebrate the Jewish new year, called Rosh Hashana. On Sunday, before I left, I went to Toys R Us to see the Nintendo64 w/ SuperMario64. IT BLEW MY MIND!!!!!! I've played tons of Playstation and Saturn games, but NOTHING, and I MEAN NOTHING compares to this game!!!! The graphics are incredibly smooth, richly detailed, and very colorful. Objects that are SUPPOSED to be round ARE round, unlike some of the sprites on the Playstation and Saturn. No slowdown. No loadtime! Only the BEST!!!! Mario moves in sooo many different ways! He does backflips. He yawns when he's not played for a while. He yells "yahoo" when he jumps high. The graphics and level of realism are unfounded. When mario takes a dive into the water, you really feel it!!! The boubles are extremely realistic, as is the water itself. You can travel to the bottom of the river, then look up for a marvelous view! You can see the above world, garbled and distorted by the rippling and depth of the water. In the castle, you go into a room, only to find a painting. You then jusmp into the painting to warp to a whole new world, kinda like Myst. The rippling effects in the painting as you jump into it are unparalleled!!! And you are free to raom around ANYWHERE, whether it be inside the castle, outside the castle, or in one of the many worlds, unlike Sega's NIGHT'S, where you really have a set path, with only little room to explore. I'm telling you, this is THE best system around!!! And this is only with a FIRST generation game!!! Wait 'till the second wave hits!!! :) I IMMEDIATELY plunked down $30 to pre-purchase my Nintendo64 and SuperMario64. Now, all I have to do is wait 'till sept. 30th for my mom to pick it up, and I'll be home the weekend of Oct. 4th to test that sucker out and to bring it back to the dorm room!!! Yesssssss!!!! It will do nicely with my SuperNES. If you enjoy video games, and want the most incredible system to date, I EXTREMELY recommend that you get it!! I first hand have had a chance to play it, and it is nothing short of breathtaking!!! Go for it!!! Play it loud!!! ;) Later! I'm new here... My name is Blaine Sanders. I'm 21 (born November 10, 1974 -- yup, I'm a Scorpio ), and I live in St. George, Utah. My obsession with Jewel and a better description of myself follows... [kinda long] Ever since I first discovered Jewel (about a month ago), I haven't been able to listen to anything else. Every morning when I wake up, I turn on Pieces of You and just listen. Often I am late to work, because I get so caught up in the music that I lose track of time. Then it's the same story after work. I go home, press Play and sit back and dream. What's wrong with me? Or rather, what's so right with her music? This girl is phenominal! All day long I find myself yearning to get home so I can hear more. And it's not just the music... it's her voice, her spirit, and most of all, her words. Everything about it is so... real. Her words touch so many emotions. Her melodies paint a perfect portrait of human nature and society. What an insiration and awakening she has given me. I only wish I could thank her in person... I haven't been lurking here very long, so I don't know if her schedule has been posted in the past. But I'd like to know if and when she might be coming to any of the surrounding states here (Nevada, Utah, Arizona). If anyone has that info, I'd appreciate it if they'd tell me. Also, if there's anyone here that's reletively close to my age that shares my obsession (and doesn't think I'm strange), I wouldn't mind hearin' from ya via personal e-mail. There's a lot of talk about astroligical signs here. I haven't learned much about that stuff, because I don't believe that when you were born dictates your personality. To a certain extent, I suppose there are many similarities between the general attitude of people born in the same period of time. But I believe personality and attitude are more influenced by society than the stars. Just my personal oppinion. At any rate -- I'm a quiet, semi-outgoing, deep thinking, caring, sensitive person that can find joy and beauty in most anything. I also tend to get annoyed very easily, and occaisionally (but not very often) loose my temper and burst out in a rage, snapping at everyone like a rabid dog. Fortunately, those episodes only last a few hours until I find something to smile about. I keep a lot of things to myself, but somehow find a way to disregard them and move on with my life. I prefer to observe and learn than to participate. I am generally quiet, but I'm not afraid to stand up and shout when someone challenges my beliefs. I'm also a perfectionist to an extent, and I'm quite anal-retentive. Is that a typical Scorpio? Sorry for such a long post (I love to write when inspired). You won't hear much from me in the future, but I'll be here... observing. - -Blaine (a.k.a - "BS") blaines@strata3d.com ------------------------------ From: just_a_gurl@kktv.com Date: Tue, 17 Sep 1996 17:45:36 -0500 Subject: Hi-- note new edress Hiya pplz......its me your friendly neighborhood psychopath, Chelsea......well its quite a long story, but my JustAGurl account went pfft on me and deleted itsself cos I'd accumulated so much mail in there. I don't have the time to contact people who did this individually, so if you fall in this catagory, try reading the instructions again. Quite a few people have been working like crazy to make as many people happy as possible. Mike,Dan & I have spent countless hours figuring out how to do this in a logical "sanity preserving" manner. Regarding the cutoff date. This was an absolute neccessity. Otherwise the "official" distribution will never end! Originally, the cutoff date was going to be back when the shows happenned! We decided to accomodate the MANY people that wouldve excluded by extending it till yesterday. What could be more reasonable?? This means we are willing to co-ordinate A LOT MORE REQUESTS than originally planned. Both Mike & I have recieved a bunch of requests from people NOT EVEN ON the lists. That also had an influence on the cutoff date. So now hopefully you all see why it is needed. It is going to be up to leafs (there'll be hundreds of you!) to volunteer to make tapes for latecomers, people away this week who missed it & folks simply unable to follow instructions. Please don't be upset if you fall in these catagories. I'm sure many will be there to help you in a few weeks. Thats the angels you are---Right? These tapes are a gift. NOT an obligation. Remember that & BE NICE when you contact us about it. I'm not going to deal with any more emails from aggravated people who have problems that are obviously due to not reading the instructions! (Although I welcome encouraging notes, which would be a nice change.) Please help preserve our sanity & just follow the instructions. We really want everyone to be happy. Mike is committed to helping you. I don't wanna need to have Mike committed because of that.
