Here's an idea I had.(which probably won't go over well) Of many people I'd like to see Jewel perform with, one of the top contenders is Jethro Tull. I think it would be great to have Jewel sing a couple of songs while Ian Anderson went off and played flute. Both bands have a sort of minstrel feel to them.(jewel is a band you say? probably bad english on my part) If not Jethro Tull, then just have Ian Anderson play flute for a song or two, as he is great with the flute. I am driving home this afternoon singing along to R.E.M.'s radio song (I can't help rapping with KRS-one at the end) so the lady driving next to me is already staring at me. We stop at a red light as the songs ends and I yell, "No Way!" she looks over at me and I yell at her to change her radio to 92.5 and she'll understand my excitement. She just turns her heard and doesn't reply. The cause of this outburst from me was the opening notes of "Emily" coming out of my car radio. Of course, I once again begin singing along. After the song is over the DJ comments that "Emily" gets more calls from listeners asking who that was than any other song. That marks the fourth different Jewel song I have heard on the station (WWSYS, YWMFM, "Have a Little Faith in Me", and now "Emily".) Between that and WBCN playing Carnivore (from an interview they did in May), I would say Boston is definitely, a Jewel-ed City.
