Everday Angels, I first posted this request on the list last Sunday. Got ONE response about a photo...one!?!? _NO ONE_ else has a photo they think they'd like to see on the JewelStock J-card???? No one????? Come on! _Someone_ out there must have one. After viewing the videotape in super slo-mo I counted 1,287 FLASHES during the first 3 songs on Thursday. You ALL could not have been using disposable cameras now could you? I now repeat the post/request below. By the way, I've got Kodak experts studying the video tape right now looking for signs that Harris (the dirty sneak) somehow intercepted shipment of the video tapes and edited out Jewel's leaving the stage a THIRD time on Thursday night and making it APPEAR there were only two encores. Please don't call me a sore loser, after all, the consequences are that I'd have to change my name to Harris. NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND??? - -----------------------re-post for J-card photo We are tossing around an idea for color J-cards for the JewelStock tapes. (For those that may not know, "J-card" is a term for the card in a cassette box that has the songs and whatnot listed on it) We are not sure as of yet if this is logistically feasible, just brainstorming. Anyway, one of our ideas is to include a photo from the Thursday show on the first tape's J-card, and we ain't got a real good one right now. So we are turning to you guys and gals. If anyone has a good photo of Jewel from the Thursday show, we'd like to see it. (I myself would LOVE to see a good one of her and Lenedra singing "The Face of Love") While we prefer it be one of her on stage performing, it is not necessary. A real good one of her after the show will do too. It does not need to be a close up neither, if we had the negative, we could enlarge and crop it. So, if you have a good photo that you'd like to see immortalized in JewelStock history, please send it to me. I will assure you get it back in no more than one piece. If you have a negative that we'd need to use, please send it in. (Privately EMAIL me to let me know if you are sending anything, I'll then let you know when I received it) Final determination of winning photograph will depend on the highest bribe to the judges: myself, Dennis Harris and Fuzzy ;-) Remember, we are only tossing this idea around right now, we may not be able to do it. FYI, for tapes two and three, we already have what we need. That's right, Jewel won me tickets to the Melissa Etheridge show in Boston on Aug. 20! There was this contest on www.boston.com for the Melissa show with some cool prizes. Grand Prize was an autographed Ovation guitar and front row tickets, 5 First Prizes of a pair of tickets and 25 Second Prizesof her latest CD. All you had to do was tell a secret along with your entry, kinda ties in with one of the singles from the new album. Well, I remembered back to one of those hilarious things that Jewel said in one of her letters to the mailing list last year. It's just one of those things that's so bizarre and funny, I can never forget it. So, I sent that in as my secret. "I fantasized about having a pair of pants made entirely of Fruit Roll-ups". And lo and behold, that was chosen as one of the first place prizes! You can see all the contest winners if you go to www.boston.com, shoose arts/diversions, then choose Music, then pick the Melissa contest. Gotta love it, I get to see Jewel in NH on Saturday, and then thanks to her, I get to see Melissa Etheridge in Boston next Tuesday! At the same time I was reading this ,I had on my radio playing Jewel. And during the most climatic part of the book , foolish games comes thru the radio , then Angel standing by and then Everything breaks. I was crushed , my mind couldn't handle receiving so many stimulants of emotions at the same time. I dropped the book and started to cry. It's not a wild , angry frustrated crying , but a lonely, saddened crying. I'll try to give you all the emotions I felt listening to those songs, reading the book and crying. I felt: loneliness, tranquility , frustration , nostalgia, hope , hopelessness , coldness , warmth , reassurance, desolation ,mixed happiness, compassion, regret and guilt. I felt all of this in about 2 seconds when all of my hairs stood on the edge of my skin. After that I started crying and I just felt incompetent and unfulfilled by the vague connotation I give life. This goes to prove that Jewel music entering an already established mood of enviorment or mind can cause serious stress on one's mind and can induce crying and frustration. Don't ever try it unless you wanna feel it. And eventhough it felt so different and weird , I felt good afterwards and had a very nice sleep. thanx for listening , your friend and auto cheap archangel : RAFA p.s:i love you guys!! -just let me be , I'm screwed either way just let me fly , you can't hold me back just let me die, let the world fight outside.- Rafa p.ps:Sammer, I changed the chorus!! ------------------------------ From: Anand Gajjala Date: Fri, 16 Aug 1996 08:55:21 -0400 Subject: (NJC) Re:Patti Rothberg Does anyone else who has her CD notice that the track list on the back of the jewel case lacks an entry for the title track, but it ("Between the 1 and the 9") is track 19 (on my CD player anyway)?
