The NH Casino Club show is 8/17, and there are 30 EDA's confirmed for what is destined to become "JewelStock: Night 3". This is the first major organized effort at pre-concert EDA partying! Be there or just hear about it later and wish you HAD been there! I'm getting a lot of questions from EDAs about where to stay, what to bring, what are the best diet Snapple flavors and such. (Some want to stay in MY room, where all the "fun" is. Unfortunately, my room will be nowhere near the venue!) I've posted several times (public and private) that on the show web page there is a list of hotels around the venue, names of attending Angels by state (with emails) and comments about the area by Rachel and Kyle. Kyle Audette lives only minutes from the area, and has generously offered in previous posts to do anything he could to help organize. Contact him! Other attendees with organizing skills include Mike, Akira, Bill, CornFlakeGirl (all grown up and 18 now...CornFlakeWOMAN?), and the official chauffeur of the event, Eric "Crash Boy" himself! The web page is at http://www.theartof.com/js/doitagain I'd help more, but I am: 1.5 hours away from the venue, attending the Boston MacExpo show for four days next week, trying to get paid to cover living expenses, trying to update JewelStock Online, working with folks on the FANZINE, in dire need of walking my dog, etc... Scott is coming to NH and wrote: >What is Jewel's stance on taping her show? Any soundboard access or audience only? How about video? I will be attending the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom show and would like to tape the show.< Scott asks for DAT boots as well, so he probably owns a DAT recorder. Video and soundboard access are highly unlikely, but those really small recorders...hmmmm. Someone please contact Scott (he's on the web page) and let's get a really great boot of this show (Ken W, you out there buddy? I've forwarded Dan Starks' recording tips FAQ to Scott already). In general, please keep me posted and let me know if you are coming! Hey Crunch, Melko, Selena and other PA Angels -- what's the word? Speaking of Selena -- so no one was impressed with our picture with Jewel at http://www.theartof.com/js/thephoto.html, huh? (Even Dean didn't comment. Hey wait a minute, I forgot...he can't reach the keyboard!) - -- Dennis p.s. If this works well, maybe we can set up a network for doing this at all Jewel appearances, eh? p.s.s. Okay, JewelHeads won't work, Family Jewels is too crude, an EveryDay Angels seems a little long (but appropriate). But, as we all know, I always second guess myself and thus decided to do this publically for those who are new... It is cool to be a collector and what have you and I'm not saying that you shouldn't tape or trade but it is wrong to sell or buy bootlegs. Therefore, we should not advertise for people who do. I don't mean to seem like a preacher because I am about as good with guidelines as I am with the guitar, but there are certain things which are fair and certain things which are not. Bootlegs steal from artists. There were rumors for years that Shakespeare wasn't really who wrote what we consider Shakesperean works. Now, if you were to find out that someone else wrote them for private consumption and then Shakespeare repackaged and sold them, wouldn't you be pissed? Of course that is different because no one else takes credit for bootlegs but still... It is true that art should be savored and shared but not by this means....
