I think that if we divide the Jewel list into two seperate list , we are gonna be self-defeating the whole idea of a list. I mean the idea behind a list , besides learning where a concert is gonna be held at , is a form of getting to know the other fans and their other interest besides their obvious great taste in music. I feel that their aren't many postings that are non-jewel related , the majority of the post have been on people describing their excitement about Jewelstock. I don't mind that at all , but don't flame people like us that may send one message as a form of release. The mayority of these bothersome post come from people who write the same type of Jewel related topic for three straight days , I mean Jewel news are grea tand I love reading each one, but they don't need to be repeated more than 10 or 20 times. Anyway I find that people in this list are very fond of each other , and say they wanna meet at Jewelstock , but everytime they post something in this list about themselves they get flamed. Please don't flame me for my opinion. My opinion is based directly on the fact that I haven't seen Jewel live and will probably never see her , so I really like meeting and learning about people who love her and have seen her. until then your friend, and automatic cheap angel : Rafa p.s: we need to be a tad bit more sensitive towards other people's situations. Yesterday when I was in the car...to my dismay I heard music news on a local radio station. They said that Jewel had cancelled the State Fair (which was already posted) and they said that she had cancelled two shows earlier this year in Alaska. They also proposed a theory about the frisbee incident. They didn't want to believe that she left stage because of the frisbee...they made fun of her because she blamed traffic. They even said that she was a bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(excuse my language but that is what they said) and they said that the fame was going to her head. I was soooooooo mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt like calling the radio station and yelling at them for making fun of her!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't though because I was going to my grandma's for a forced family fun night with all of my extended family. I don't have enough money to buy a stuffed angel, I am saving it for JewelStock! I went to the Motel 6 down the road and 9 out of 10 motel occupants chose the blue ribbon as the most viewable. The one that disagreed I believe is evil. I chose the parts that I haven't seen in other articles. I hope this is informative. ...she lived with her father until coming to Interlochem Arts Academy on a $6,000 scholarship. Not having enough to pay the rest of Interlochen's two-year tuition, Kilcher raised the money through a hometown benifit concert, Jewel said, "There's always been a bird in me that's wanted to fly south. I just didn't know what south was." Jewel came to Interlochen on a vocal scholarship. She said, "I enjoyed that a lot. Classical was hard for me, though. I went thinking I'd get a scholarship for blues. They asked me to sing an aria and I didn't know what one was." Instructor of voice Nicole Philibosian and Ron Gentry fondly remember how confident and eager Jewel was. "She's enormously talented and what was fun about her was that she was completely game to try anything," recalled Nicole. ....Jean Parsons, Visual Art Division Chair and instructor, found Jewel to be one of her most memorable and malleable sculpture class models. "I think what made it workable for Jewel is that she brought in her guitar and practiced. Also, all those day and evening classes and weekends too, reallsy helped her do a lot of composing," said Jean. Ron Gentry described Jewel as a real maverick and that "she knew where she was going. Actually, she acted like one of our peers." [performing with her father and later on her own] helped her become in tune with her talent and audiences. Jewel said, "It's really learning to adapt yourself to a situation and how to be a showman and how to tell stories or do whatever the heck it takes to get people listening." ...Jean says that Jewel was prettly level-headed here at Interlochen, adding, "She wrote me a letter saying how she sized up people to chose who she would have promot her. I think Jewel was using a lot of horse sense. She has lived this thrifty, rather harsh life and it really built within her a strong constitution." Jewel puts it even more simply: "I'm 21 and willing to learn in front of millions of people."
