I've been busy with the concert and my own life, so I am a little behind on what has been posted on the lists. As for the friday show, the money is a donation for a cause that Jewel has asked for. The charity is the barn that the concert will be held in. It has a history and Jewel wishes for it to have a future also. So the money will be available for all to give into it on both the Thursday and Friday show. As for being with non list members on the Friday show, there will be list members there too. HI! Me again..... Several people have emailed Mike and me with the question of when confirmations for seats will be sent out. Well I have begun the process, and the majority of the confirmations have been sent and replied back to me already. However, a minority of confirmations have yet to be done. I was hoping to get them down over the weekend, but being the 4th, I was unable to complete the undaunting task. So, unless I have another wierd electrical storm like last night, I will complete them by wednesday night. THIS IS ONLY FOR THE RESERVATIONS SENT ME BEFORE THE 4TH; ANYTHING AFTER WILL BE DONE BY FRIDAY!! So if you don't recieve anything by friday, email me and tell me to put down the vodka, gin, triple-sec, splash of rum, cranberry juice drink that I have in my hand, get out off the raft in the pool, and get to work! =) Thanks ------------------------------ From: Akira Date: Tue, 9 Jul 1996 12:12:17 -0400 Subject: RE: unsucribe Why would anyone want to do that??????? - ---------- From: Robert Blackorbay[SMTP:r.blackorbay@worldnet.att.net] Sent: Sunday, July 07, 1996 5:37 AM To: jewel@smoe.org Subject: unsucribe UNSCRIBE ------------------------------ From: toni@indy.net (Toni Dunn) Date: Tue, 9 Jul 1996 11:39:34 -0500 Subject: Tom Proven anyone??? First, all let me say I would be disappointed if Sometimes It Be That Way, Marital Carnival, Deep Water, Carnivore, and Love Me Just Leave Me Alone don't make the cut. They are among my favorite Jewel songs and I think the last two in particular could vault Jewel to even higher heights of fame. Of course, I named five songs and that's about a third of the album so I wouldn't be surprised if they are not all there. My album titles, "I swear to God, it won't happen again." "F%@# you, I'm Sensitive" "Diamond in the Rough" "Precious" Of these the first and the last are my favorites I can just see JEWEL:Precious on the Billboard list. pjk ------------------------------ From: pjk@cybercom.net (Phil Kelnhofer) Date: Tue, 9 Jul 1996 14:54:54 -0400 Subject: JEWELSTOCK: T-shirt mini-FAQ I have been so busy and so deluged with t-shirt questions that I just made up this mini-faq. I have sent it to Dennis and it should be up there soon. For those of you who don't have web access or haven't bother to check out the site here goes. T-Shirt Mini-FAQ Q. Will there be JewelStock memorial T-Shirts for sale at the show? A. Shirts will be availible, but quantities are limited. The design can be viewed on the JewelStock web page. Q. How much will they cost? A. They will be $10 at the show CASH ONLY. Q. Should I order it in advance? A. No, they will be sold first come first serve. Any orders emailed to me will be ignored (sorry, but there are so many of them I have stopped replying). I only asked if people wanted them so I would know how many to order. If they sell out you can buy them over the list the week after the show (see next question). Q. I can't make it to the show. Can I still somehow get a shirt? A. Yes, I plan to order a second batch (assuming the first batch sells out) to sell to people who couldn't make it/got there after the shirts sold out. Keep an eye out the week following JewelStock for a post on how to order shirts. They will cost a couple dollars extra to cover shipping. Q. Will there be other stuff for sale? A. Yes, for those of you who don't like the design or can't get enough Jewel merchandise the regular tour shirts and things will also be for sale (I don't know exactly what the other stuff looks like I just know they will have it). Q. I really love/hate the design whom should I praise/blame for it? A. The design was created by me (pjk@cybercom.net) using Adobe Illustrator. I have several years experience in printing and design. Q. Are you really some greedy bastard trying to make a buck off of Jewel's generosity to her fans? A. No, he capital for the shirts came from my own bank account so please do what you can to make sure they sell out so I don't lose money trying to be nice (I am selling them so close to cost that after I give free shirts to Jewel, L, H, and the organizers I only need to get stuck with about 10 shirts to lose money). Please only email me if you have a question that is not answered here (or if you want to tell me how much you love my design ;)). Between, trying to get paid for some part-time work I did last month and trying to find a new full-time job right now I am very busy. Kurt Loder ended the piece by saying, "Hey, people shouldn't be throwing things at Jewel." it's was pretty cool to actually see the event after hearing so much about it. hopefully, the piece will be rebroadcast a number of times during the week and on The Week In Rock this weekend so everyone else can see it. Hi, I just wanted to clarify a few things and let you know about some suggestions I am going to act on............ 1)I am not SELLING the picture!!!!!!! This is the COST of the picture and mailing....I appreciate your suggestion and will attempt to have the pics scanned before I offer it.As far as this price goes I will give everyone the benefit of the doubt that you have never had any "PRO" type photo work done. This is not your wallmart/kmart/target 8x10 enlargement for two dollars. This is a hand done enlargement. No computers to automatic blow it up, etc. This is premium grade Kodak paper, etc. It takes time to do these and it cost money. About six dollars at my last check. I also said I was going to include "Priority" mail via the UPS. This cost about thre dollars. I figured a dollar or so for the protective envelopes........That how I come to the $10 price tag. I am not making any profit. I wouldn't be trying to sell my pics to you guy for money. I could be selling them to magazines, etc. 2)On the suggestion of a member of the group I will try to run this by Hiranya. I will also if at all possible try to get Lenedra blessing, o.k., whatever. I will try to obtain these o.k. on the fact that I am not selling them! 3)Anothe suggestion was to have a scan of the pic available. I will try to obtain one. If I do I will e-mail it to anyone who would like one. To see what the picture looks like. The majority of the response has been positive and I think I will go ahead and do this if I obtain the ok from #2. Just keep the e-mail comming if you are interested in it. Again I appreicate everyones comments and positive replies. I got there and there were bunches of people (all you guys, I suppose) and I floated around about 5 people back from the stage, and jewel was on and it was weird cause it didn't seem like Jewel but it was. And I sat down at a table with some familiar people from the list but I don't remember who (it might have been the Boston Angels or just what I imagine some people on this list look like). Anyways, Jewel came down from the stage and was mingling with the people and she came to our table and was saying Hi and doing the "slide me some skin" greeting. You know, where one person slides their hand palm down over another's hand palm up. They did it in the movie "Stand by Me." And the people at the table were enthusiastically greeting her and I was just sitting there, happy and she moved on. I didn't say anything and she didn't notice me but I was ok cause I didn't want to bug her. and that's all I remember. Any other volleyballers other than Sinjin on the list? I know that my problem is concentration and nothing I tried seemed to help. I can feel it when I focus on the ball and hit a good shot. So there I was on the tee trying to think of stuff to calm myself down so one, I would play better golf, and two, I would lessen my chances of leaving the course with broken clubs. Then, the 120 minutes performance of Absence of Fear popped into my head and I could feel my muscles untense. I closed my eyes for a moment, opened them, swung, and hit the longest straightest drive I have ever hit. I tried it on each shot and I played much better. I didn't hit perfect shots everytime but even the bad ones didn't seem to anger me so much. For those of you out there who can't seem to concentrate on that little white ball, maybe you will find the golfer hidden deep down inside. As always though, after that 18 holes I swore never to play another 18. That is a crock though because I know I will play again in the not too distant future. Something about the challenge seems to attract me to it. Rich Melko rwm126@psu.edu ################################# Jerry - You're Crazy. Kramer - Am I?
