I'll switch to decaf soon, I swear. Thanks. Jon Bear with us folks. Akira be a busy man. He plans on sending confirmations soon, hopefully by Sunday. I'll ask him for sure. Are they playing the MTV version now? ------------------------------ From: dkaracos@marlin.utmb.edu Date: Tue, 2 Jul 1996 17:21:42 -0500 (CDT) Subject: Jewel in "Clueles" I was watching the movie "Clueless" the other day and could have sworn I heard Jewel singing a song in it. When it was over I watched the credits and sure enough it WAS her. The song is called "All by Myslef" I think. BUT, it's not on the soundtrack for the movie that was released. Does anyone out there know if there is any way to get this song on tape or CD? That was the only time I've ever heard of it. Just wanted to take two seconds from my day(and everyone else's) to thank Mike, Akira, Bill, and Hiranya for busting their asses for us- in a world where everyone all too often thinks of only themselves, these people have made a great sacrifice to bring this thing together -- for a bunch of people who they only know by their e-mail names. It would be a tremendous oversight if these people didn't get a handshake, hug, or at least a kiss on the end of their feet for bending over backwards for us. I know there was some hesitation at the beginning that they would be able to pull it off, but now the time is here, and they deserve a big, big THANKS from all of us... Now, you four, stop patting yourselves on the back, and get back to work-- there's much to be done;) And Mike--have some herbal tea, and think good jewel thoughts-- now, doesn't that feel better??:) Thanks again for taking charge, and doing such an awesome job. We will never be able to properly repay you. Oh Yeah, where's my head-- thanks to Jewel for being the best damn artist on the Earth, and for really caring about us-- we will repay you by being ever loyal- there's no doubt that you are an incredible talent, and we are lucky to know you! First of all, a "news only" list would be great. However, the biggest disadvantage to this would be that we would miss out on JewelStock-type stuff, plus whatever tapes the list creates. My suggestion would be to cut down on the banter occuring on the list. Granted, that's what really makes the list, but lately it's gotten a bit much. It's good to not always receive mail from the list. Don't generate some just because you haven't received any. As far as discussing other artists, go for it. However, be aware that you might upset some of the members that are expecting "Jewel only" type stuff. If you really want to discuss other artists without fear of flaming, then head on over to ecto. One of two lists I'm on where asbestos underwear is not needed at all. ;-) Good luck to all those attending JewelStock. Unfortunately, I am unable to make it, but rest assured I will get the tape when it comes out. For those "older" list members (older as far as time on the list), tell Jewel for me (the one that requested that song off of Rare Angels (can't remember, and it's not here with me)) that she needs to come *back* to Omaha. ;-) I realise that I'm sending from an address I'm not subscribed on - it's just easier at times than trying to deal with my home account. As far as bootlegs go, I don't go that route. I really don't consider Rare and Radio Angels, along with the Inner Change tapes, boots, since they're not for profit, and at least in the case of Rare (and Radio?) Jewel actually likes them. And my wife is liking Jewel a bit more - even if they're playing WWSYS so much. Matt mbittner@juno.com ------------------------------ From: "Gerald J. (its very depressing for those of us that can't go to read all the preparations to this mega event.) anyways... I was dubbing a tape for a fellow angel when this little thought occured to me. _Love Me Just Leave Me Alone_ sounds very much like a Bob Dylan song. It could easily have been in _Blonde on Blonde_. Maybe touring with Dylan influenced Jewel and this may be the fruit of the influence. (unless this song was written before she opened for Dylan.) Anyone else noticed this? Gerald we need a support group for people that can't make it to Jewelstock. ------------------------------ From: MEFAN22@aol.com Date: Tue, 2 Jul 1996 00:32:52 -0400 Subject: HELP!! If anyone is coming remotely close to Toledo on their way to Jewelstock PLEASE e-mail me!! I don't take up a lot of space.
