Hunter ------------------------------ From: Andrew Levstein Date: Wed, 19 Jun 1996 00:07:31 -0400 Subject: If you are going to Jewel/Neil Young in Toronto READ THIS! Just to remind everyone, there is a place you can get tickets for the Jewel / Gin Blossoms / Oasis / Neil Young concert a little cheaper than from ticketmaster. Ticketmaster charges $35 (early bird price for first 5000, then goes to $42), then they charge $4.50 service charge per ticket, and a $2 handling charge per order. There is a small used/new CD store in Toronto called Sonic Temple, that sells tickets to general admission shows. They are always at least a dollar or two cheaper than phoning ticketmaster to order. I do a lot of business with them (I own a DJ service) and I spoke to the owner today, and he will definately have tickets for the show. If you buy from him, you save yourself a few bucks, and you have the satisfaction of not giving ticketmaster the business directly. (They don't call them ticketbastards for nothing!) He told me that he will have tickets at the earlybird price, and for sure you won't have to pay the $2 per order charge. It is also likely that the service charge won't be as high as $4.50. Sonic Temple is at 5165 Yonge Street (Young St, a few blocks north of Sheppard). If you tell them that Andrew from TNT Sound sent you, then they will be extra nice to you! : ) I hope this is helpful. As a Pearl Jam fan, I am fairly rabid about avoiding ticketmaster whenever possible. Buying tickets from Sonic Temple allows me to enjoy concerts with the satisfaction of knowing that TM didn't squeeze every last dime out of my pocket! See you at the show (and hopefully at JewelStock first!)
