VH-1 in the afternoon ( a very odd time for me to have the TV on) The local radio station (Live 105) finnally played WWSYS. ~10:15 a.m. Right after the highly rated morniung show. Yeah. The DJ didn't even know who she was. I would have thought that he would have, since I know he worked for 91x in San Diego. (Dred Scott) Must be another paper-sack-over-the-head music industry fool. All he could say was that she was a new artist(the album's out over a year!!) and that an intern said she was "a hottie." I guess ignorant play is better than none. (needless to say, I called and set him straighter. This was only the third time I've heard Jewel on the radio. One of which was by my prompting. Aaargh! I heard of Jewel through ecto (Happy Rhodes) mailing list. I went to the Jewel websites, sampled her music, and dashed to the nearest music store for Pieces of You. My one complaint about the album is I've already worn out the lyrics sheet (too much folding and unfolding). I can't wait to hear Jewel's other songs. Other regular tenants of my cd player are: Happy Rhodes (I have all her stuff and can't wait for more),Dar Williams (recommended thru ecto also).
