Richard Thompson, one of my faves) and it sounded absolutely fabulous (tm). I am so jealous. Iguess you gotta make it to get it? The previews now show her with her guitar in a cowboy hat at a microphone strumming away. Is that Jewel posting through Hiryana or is Hiryana just transcibing something she was told or heard? ------------------------------ From: vxs112@psu.edu (Vanessa) Date: Thu, 14 Mar 1996 11:05:09 -0500 Subject: MTV >Jewel got added to mtv! Wouldn't you know it, but yesterday as i walked thru my student union building, i found myself humming the words to WWSYS... when i realized it was because mtv was playing her video... jewel's lovely face and voice were displayed on a giant screen tv for about 300 penn staters to enjoy as they ate their pizza and subs! If she really has film aspirations, I would hope that her singer-turned-actress career path would at least follow the Whitney Houston model, as opposed to the one of, say, Susanna Hoffs. I originally wasn't going to respond to this thread, but I finally had the chance to see "Broken Arrow" last night. With this Wes Craven thing in mind, I thought Jewel might have been perfect for the Samantha Mathis role -- a part not requiring a whole lot of acting talent in a mainstream movie with a pretty respectable director. And it didn't hurt that they kinda look the alike (minus the different hairstyles, of course). It's nice to see Jewel getting more airplay, but not like this. The thought of seeing her video with comments from the usual brainless people is sickening.
