Last night I set my CD player on random with Jewel, Tori, Sarah, Hole, and Patti Smith. All of a sudden I heard the most beautiful voice that I could have sworn was Jewel's--but it was a song familiar to me in another way. Anyway, it turned out to be Patti Smith's Birdland, off the Horses album. Has anyone ever noticed the similarity in their voices before (at least when Patti sings in her higher register)? Anyone else a Patti Smith fan? ------------------------------ From: jimmy@denwa.info.com (Jim Gottlieb) Date: Tue, 12 Mar 96 14:51 PST Subject: Re: MTV On Mar 11 at 13:59, ddevito@darwin.cc.nd.edu (bright paper werewolf) writes: > what a dork, but 120 minutes is really the only thing worth watching > on eMpTyVee these days... MTV still plays music videos? I gave up on them long ago when I found that they were showing everything but. Hey, Viacom has enough other cable channels to put that junk on; it seems crazy to call it MTV and not show much M. Kinda funny that VH-1, which started out as very conservative, Adult Contemporary, Phil Collins country, is now the better place to find new(er) and exciting artists like Jewel. - -- Jim Gottlieb | E-Mail: jimmy@denwa.info.com | In Japan: jimmy@denwa.linc.or.jp V-Mail: +1 619 260 6912 | Fax: +1 619 558 1113 Snail: 2405 Juan Street, San Diego CA 92110-2805 USA My Home Page URL: http://www.info.com/~jimmy/ ------------------------------ From: 5858@connectnet.com (jeff F) Date: Tue, 12 Mar 1996 19:49:08 -0800 (PST) Subject: promo discs hi does anyone know where i can pick up a copy of ywmfm the promo cd with 3 versions of the song on it i would also like to find the promo cd of wwsys with the interview on it if anyone has any ideas, please e mail me. i am willing to buy or trade for these. thanks a lot. jeff ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V1 #88 **************************
