Hello everyone. My name is Leana Clothier and I saw Jewel on Monday night (1/29) at the Iron Horse Cafe in Northampton, MA. Needless to say, she was incredible. And I'm thrilled to say that I taped the whole concert. ***If anyone would like a copy of the bootleg, please e-mail me. I'd love to trade for rare performances or copies of promo CDs.*** The setlist for the night was: Kiss Your Ass / Pieces Of You / Cold Song / 1000 Miles Away / Here When Gone / Little Sister / Morning Song / You Were Meant For Me / Perfectly Clear / With You I Will Always Be / Fragile Heart / K-Mart Bathroom Song / I've Got The Blues...Blues / Life's One Great Big Mystery Show / Fragile Flame / Angel Standing By / Near You Always / Painters / Footsteps Of Morning Sincerely, Leana Clothier ------------------------------ From: Steve Ito Date: Sat, 3 Feb 1996 04:15:58 -0500 Subject: Stage banter/Name for Innerchange compilations... The mysterious poster known as G.W. said: >Music is the main part of Jewel's shows (duh), but I think we can >all say we enjoyed her stage banter as well. I guess what I'm >asking is, did any of that get on to the compliations? :) Jewel's stage banter is a really enjoyable part of her performances. Trouble is, when you've heard the same story enough times, you get tired of it no matter who tells it. And being human (and a relatively young one at that!), she has a limited repertoire of stories (a heck of a lot more limited than her songs, that's for sure!), meaning she has to repeat stories with each show. I got sort of sick of some of her stories after seeing her just 5 times... imagine how tired of her stories Jeff and Neal must be after god knows how many Innerchange shows, then a whole slew of shows after that? The last thing they want to hear is the same 5-minute long story over and over again on a tape... The distilled message... don't be hard on Jeff if he didn't leave the stage banter you wanted to hear on the tapes! BUT... fear not, you will be getting plenty of Jewelspeak on the upcoming "Radio Angels" tape! Steve P.S. may I make a cheesy suggestion? On this list, we have Rare Angels, Radio Angels... so shall we call these compilations: *** InnerchAngels? *** :-) :-) :-) :-) Yes, I *was* joking, but it would be kind of a wonderfully tacky thing to name them, wouldn't it? So I cast my half-serious vote for my own in-no-way-serious suggestion... InnerchAngels! - ----------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Ito, | "Life is pain, Highness. On stories: If the trees take off, full concert tapes will get tree'd too, and there will be plenty of stories floating around. The point of these tapes is to make available lots of songs, and as you can see from the list, there are lots of songs to be made available! > P.S. may I make a cheesy suggestion? On this list, we have Rare Angels, > Radio Angels... so shall we call these compilations: > > *** InnerchAngels? *** Well Steve, that certainly is a clever variant! I like it enough to probably even counterbalance my upcoming quibble.... You see, I, er, don't particularly LIKE angels. Sure, I can take an angel here, an angel there (here and angel, there an angel, everywhere an angel angel, Old Macdonals had a farm... oh, excuse me), and I love Angel Needs A Ride (not really about an Angel) and Angel Standing By, but I've had my fill of angels. I do like the name InnerchAngels though, so I think, in the future, you shouldn't come up with such clever angel titles so it will be easier not to use them :) (I don't have anything to do with the titling of the tape. For that matter, all I had to do with the tape was making sure Jeff Hanson had lot's of music to work with sometime in the past.) How do insets and packaging work on a tape tree anyway? Or does someone just scribble all the stuff onto the tape? (keeping with the cheese theme!) I would like to give a great big slobbery kiss to those that are involved with the compilation of Innerchange recordings. They are truly treasures! And since I'm posting, I might as well introduce myself to those that might have been on this list the whole time or maybe just joined. I'm Sabra (yes, it's my real name ;) and I've been on since last March and I've seen two Jewel shows (in the same night) and met her at the second! She is sweet as is everyone that listens to her, so I thank you for being a reader-friendly bunch o' people. I live in Utah and would like to know if anyone from Utah has joined yet! That's all... bye sabra ------------------------------ From: LYJR48A@prodigy.com (MR RICHARD F CLOTHIER) Date: Sat, 03 Feb 1996 23:32:04 EST Subject: Jewel bootleg...I'M SWAMPED! To everyone who has requested a copy of my bootleg from the 1/29 show: This is an impersonal and general reply to all of your eager requests. I've been deluged with messages, and just can't reply to all of them. So, here's the story. I think that I've found enough people to trade with...I'm not really interested in Tori Amos boots...and I have enough Pearl Jam bootlegs to fill a small room. THE OFFER IS: Send me $3 through snail-mail, and I will send you a copy of my bootleg. ($1 to cover the cost of a 60 minute tape, $2 to cover postage and shipping materials) Since I don't want to post my address, please e-mail me privately if you're still interested.
