Well, I made a little progress in gathering info about the upcoming show at Episcopal HS. They know nothing about it. At least, that's what the secretary said when she checked the calendar. But I'll be talkig with Jim Ellington tommorow who should give me the final word. I'm feeling optimistic about this. They just may have nothing written down. And this is a somewhat extraordinary event for a school. So right now I'm saying if you're interested go down to the school that evening and see what happens. Until someone says, "No, Jewel will not be coming here. Period." that is. On a totally different note, if you're interested in virtual reality there's something about that going on at the school during the day Saturday. - -- ## All opinions expressed are yours; you have only yourself to blame. ## "two roads diverged in a yellow wood and i, i took the third and that is why i am lost." -- daniel perett ------------------------------ From: gregdunn@indy.net (Greg Dunn) Date: Thu, 18 Jan 1996 08:33:50 -0500 Subject: Re: Jewel's height >In a message dated 96-01-18 00:07:57 EST, you write: > >>Jewel is 5 feet 6inches tall. > >no, she isnt. im taller than her yet i am 5'5 1/2" >there is no way she could be taller than i. >i talked with her for long enough to realize that she is >quite shorter. >katy Hmmm. Hiranya should have the info straight from the family, but we don't know if they measure her height with shoes on; those boots she wore in Indy had good heels on them. :) :) I will note that my wife and daughter are about 5'6" and Jewel (with boots!) stood about the same height. I only know because she kinda leaned against me for arm support while signing my poster and CD in the parking lot; I can't estimate height from a distance. :) Not that her height even matters. Episcopal high school is a member of the ISSAC, a group of private independent schools associated, once, directly with the boarding school that I attended in high school (they were brother/sister schools before Epis went coed). The association often puts on big concerts for the students, and these said concerts are not open to the public...ever. Or at least this was the case when I was in high school, 5 yrs ago. This may be the reason that they did not offer any information regarding the concert...they try to avoid crashers...but of course, this may not be the case, although I would be inclined to think that it is. However, I will try to contact the school and see what they tell me, if anyone else hears anything, and it turns out that the concert is open...I will be VERY VERY VERY surprised....but I would definitely love the info!! You can bet I would find a way in!!!! Thanks..
