I'm really glad she chose to sing the song the way it is on the album, i'm really not to keen on the new VH-1 video and the new sound for ' you were meant for me '. Hrm, did anyone ever notice the mean incisor tooth pushed way back before? Just like me. Hrm, I think she was meant for me. I found something interesting in the record store the other day, and I figured I'd let you all know about it, because I've never seen mention of it on this list. Atlantic records apparently puts out a promotional type of CD, similar to Geffen's DGC Rarirties. The name of the Atlantic one is Spew+, and it's one of those newfangled enhanced CD's. It's got 9 songs from 9 different artists on it, and each artist has a multimedia piece on it, as well as their song. Jewel has "I'm Sensitive" on it (just the regular song), and her multimedia bit includes a video interview with Jewel, the video to "Who Will Save Your Soul" (this doesn't play too well on my computer, as I have the bare minimum to run the video), and a few other various bits of information about Jewel. Here's the track list for the CD, in case y'all might not want to get it for just one artist: 1. Civ, "Can't Wait One Minute More" 2. Collective Soul, "Smashing Young Man" 3. Jewel, "I'm Sensitive" 4. Dragmules, "Send Away" 5. Rusty, "Groovy Dead" 6. The Inbreds, "Any Sense of Time" 7. Sugary Ray, "Rhyme Stealer" 8. Jill Sobule, "Good Person Inside" 9. James Carter, "1944 Stomp" And, of course, the minimum system requirements: 2x CDROM drive Mac: System 7.1 or later, 68040 Processor 8 MB RAM 2 MB Free Space on Hard Drive 13" Color Monitor (256 Colors) IBM: Windows 3.1, 486DX2/66 Processor 8 MB RAM 2 MB Free Space on Hard Drive 8 Bit Sound Blaster Compatible 640 x 480 x 256 Colors Monitor And it has a warning: Incompatible with some NEC CD-ROM drives. Hey Guys- I have been meaning to post this for a while- A few weeks ago I went into My favorite record store & they had some SPEW promo Tapes. It has remixes of a lot of songs-- Including... You were meant for me. It starts out a little differently- with an electric guitar - It has a new vocal recording also. It has the "new" chorus & they leave out the verse about the movie( it was happy & i was sad...) Just thought You would like to know. I usually catch it only on the weekends since they shifted it later, but if I knew she was on I would tape it ;-) They had Edwin McCain on last year, and they seem to prefer their guests to play something acoustic (guitar or piano). She would fit in perfectly. Maybe if they get enough requests, they will invite her on (though Jan. 26 when she's already in NY would probably be the opportune time and is probably too soon). If you watch the show then you already know the email address. I'm not going to give it out here because I don't mean to start a letter-writing campaign by people who don't even watch the show! ------------------------------ From: dyani Date: Fri, 05 Jan 96 18:14:56 EST Subject: Re: The Return OF Dreams Last... wow. there's a lot of stuff from jewel i haven't seen on tv. well, three things anyway. the crossroads performance of "who will save your souls", the conan o'brien show, (which i watched but didn't tape, and was distracted anyway), and jay leno. i know it would be pretty stupid to just get a tape with three things on it (granted there are people out there with this stuff on tape) so i was just thinking it's always cool when you compile all an artists tv appearances, etc on one tape. is there more out there? or does anyone have a concert of hers on video or something? sorry if this is a completely ridiculous idea but i think it could work. oh - and the show last night was great, i was *so* glad she sang it like it is on the album, for some reason i can't stand the radio version. dyani ------------------------------ From: Truna@aol.com Date: Fri, 5 Jan 1996 19:44:00 -0500 Subject: Tour dates. Standing room only. I got mine about 2 weeks ago, but I'm sure there must be some still available. If you're thinking of calling up Ticketmaster to order by credit card, like I did, it's gonna come to about $15.50 with the damn service charges. Oh well.
