Was that recently? I contacted Maggie at jnettlesband@mindspring.com in April and she said that there has been legal red tape in repressing of old SMD CDs. I live in Illinois, so the chance of me finding something in a CD shop is virtually nil. If you know where I can get Hallelujah, anyone, let me know! My CD has a huge scratch on it so I can't listen to about half of the songs. Since we're all about touting other bands, I'll put in my two cents about a local band here called Lotrel. Check them out on mp3.com. They're kind of acousticy-folky at times, sometimes with more heavy guitars. The lead singer has an amazing voice. The mp3 songs don't really do the band justice. Thanks! They have both SaP and Hallelujah and will ship them to you. Here's the info: Wax-N-Facts Attn: Alice 432 Moreland Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30307 404.525.2275 I went to digitalclubnetwork.com and i couldn't get it to work. it kept asking me to log in even after i logged in. if i could get to the streams, there is a reasonable chance that i could download them (if it isn't possible through the link). Anyone else with this problem? Oh, and even though the "ReplyTo:" field in the email header of this mailing list isn't set to jennifernettles@smoe.org (when you hit reply, it uses the email of the sender, instead of the list), i think we should make it a habit of sending to the list. keep the conversation going, you know. as for bands you may not have heard of that i like, check out StoryHill (from my home town of bozeman, MT), a folk group that i love. You can get their stuff at peppermint records (www.peppermintcds.com), if you want an opinion on the best intro to their music, pick up the album "Echoes". And they are also on mp3.com (http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/252/storyhill.html). pol - ---- Brooklyn Deards wrote: > > Hey Pol! I will give them a listen and let you know what i think. What is your favorite song of theirs? And on a side note (to everyone) does the band know about this mailing list? do they ever participate? i know that JNB has a snailmail mailing list (god knows why) that i signed up for (through an email), but i don't know of any "official" mailing list for the band. pol - ---- Elisabeth Preston Hsu wrote: > Yeah, Pol, you mentioned that you bought the CD Hallelujah. I really like "I Would", "Messenger" and "She Believes." Some other good listens: Jessica Schoenberg (the song "These True Things" is great), Holly Figueroa (try "Dream in Red"), Eleni Moraites (also local to Champaign, IL like Lotrel; she's vibrant alto with great acoustic guitar; not on mp3 unfortunately). Try www.folkweb.com or www.cdbaby.com for other ideas. I love these websites and wish I had more money to buy a CD a week! I unfortunately don't have good access to speakers at work, so I don't listen to mp3 very often. I'll have to check out StoryHill sometime though; I love getting to know more folk bands, especially if they're indies. About the list, I really don't know if the band knows anything about it. Hello, Moderator, could you answer this?
