I reserved my ticket, took the ferry from New London to Orient Point, hung out on the beach for awhile. Imagine my surprise at the venue (Levitas Center for the Arts, Southampton Cultural Center) when Jeff Passe and Susan were doing merch for the Kennedys! The order of performers at the festival was Mick Hargreaves solo, Barbara Lamb, Caroline Doctorow, and the Kennedys. Caroline's set was broadcast live on WPKN (Montauk and Bridgeport CT). Playing with Caroline were Mick Hargreaves (bass, vocals), Gary Oleyar (fiddle), Joe Felley (guitar), Pete Kennedy (guitar, electric sitar, vocals), and Maura Kennedy (vocals). Here's what Caroline played -- Sell-Out Agitation Waltz Someday Never Comes Bold Marauder Children of Darkness Will If You Want Me To Gentle on My Mind Some of Shelly's Blues Reno Nevada I Want You Mainline Prosperity Blues Gotta Travel On Many of those songs were from Caroline's 2008 release Another Country: the Songs of Mimi & Richard Farina, produced by Pete Kennedy. I'll cover the set by the Kennedys in a review separate from this one.
