The lineup was like a who's who of musicians Bruce would be willing to drive to Titusville NJ from Boston to see -- The Kennedys The Strangelings The Stringbusters Hungrytown Christina Thompson Lively solo Maura Kennedy solo Pete Kennedy solo The only version of the Kennedys that did not play was the Snacks. Here's how it went -- Wake Up, Children (Strangelings in procession into the hall) Hallelujah Lines of Longitude Old Man of the Mountain Clearwater (Christina Thompson Lively set) The Rose or the Briar Hungrytown Road Going North Lucille, Lucille (Hungrytown set) Make It Last (Maura Kennedy solo) Coal Tattoo (Pete Kennedy solo) Me, Myself & I Minor Swing (Stringbusters set) Rhapsody in Blue (Pete Kennedy solo) Stand (Strangelings) Speed of Soul I Found a Road In My Dreams Breathe Gypsy Rose Midnight Ghost (Kennedys set) Nuah Wayfaring Stranger Season of the Witch Man of Poor Fortune Tanglewood Tree Johnny Come Down to Hilo A-Soalin' Matty Groves White Bird (Strangelings set) This was the first time I'd seen Pete Kennedy play solo, and this was the first time I'd seen Maura Kennedy play solo. The 120-Minute Folk Festival is epitomized for me by the Kennedys' song "I Found a Road," since the Titusville trip led directly (for me) to the 6/6/08 Club Helsinki Kennedys show where Maura Kennedy completely blew my mind with 5 new songs -- "Chains," "Patience," "Freefall," "Sun Burns Gold," and "Time Will Steal Your Heart." That same road led me later to the Living Room (8 different times), to Kenny's Castaways, to the Bitter End, to Common Ground Coffeehouse, to the Guitar Gods & Goddesses Workshop at Falcon Ridge, and to my 2 brief cameos on "I Found a Road" (with the Snacks at the FRFF Family Stage and with the Kennedys at Walkabout Clearwater Coffeehouse). "The Road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began." Titusville was "the door where it began." When I think of 2008, it was the year "I Found a Road" that led to the Kennedys. And the Kennedys led me directly to Women in Docs (New Bedford Summerfest, followed by 16 Women in Docs shows in 2 months) and to Raina Rose (Mountaintop Weekend in October, followed by 9 Raina shows in 3 weeks in March Madness). All this and much, much more, from the 120-Minute Folk Festival 3/29/08 in Titusville!
