About 11 years ago, in 1998, Pete & Maura wrote this in the liner notes  of 
the album Angel Fire re: "Common Bond" --
 
"Written during a teaching residency at Manhattanville College, this song  
was inspired by the writings of playwright and Czech president, Vaclav Havel,  
probably the only world leader who really is an unashamed idealist."
 
Eleven years later.  If only Barack Obama had enlisted the Kennedys  "Common 
Bond" as his theme song for the new millennium!   :-)
