But since Gordon Nash has already put up his pix of Pete & Maura at the Bitter End on Facebook (don't know if they're online anywhere else), I wanted to at least nail down this review of Maura's costume as the Cat-woman. It all started with a black body-suit, skin tight with a V-neck. It looked like Maura had a short-sleeved black top over a long-sleeved black top, with black pants. There was a long black cat's tail pinned on in just the right spot, like Pin the Tail on the Catwoman. There was a black collar around her neck with little silver bells attached. Front and center, there was a cat mask, with whiskers, little cat ears, and highlighted cat's eyelashes. (I came up with other eyelashes that must've come off, on account of all the cat-scratching going on on electric guitar, no doubt -- but that must not've been part of the cat mask, because the cat's eyelashes were still intact there last I checked.) Maura wearing her hair in braids was a cute addition to the whole effect. And where the rubber hit the road, Maura had on over-the-calf, partly zipped and partly laced, black Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers, with zipper in the back and white laces in the front going up all the way up, bottom to top. Topping it all off was a Strangelings-style black cape with a hood, for the chilly outdoors catwalk to and from the Bitter End. All of Maura's songs sounded even better being delivered by herself whilst playing electric guitar in a catsuit. Note to Self! :-) (Wear a Catsuit!) In short, Maura's costume at the Bitter End was the Living End and the Cat's Pyjamas, and on a scale of one to ten, a la the louder amps in Spinal Tap, Maura was a Purrfect eleven. So, what's the prize for best costume? :-) Bruce Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V9 #227 **********************************
