"We should not forget that the closing of our festival protected CW from the very real potential of loss of life. Lightening hit the ground 30 feet from Reception, nd the Park's decision to evacuate the festival was prudent. It would have been irresponsible not to have gone along with this decision. We can second-guess thos decision since the sun came out later, but at the time of the thunder and lightening the danger was real and frightening. Closing the festival 5 hours early, while painful, was the right decision." Some people have questioned the closing. 2 things - the park made the initial decision, and lightening strikes on the ground in a potentially crowded area are reason enough. john r Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V9 #190 **********************************
