I have seen, over the years (though more on the Nook), occasional concert reviews prompted by a rush of excitement after a particularly mindblowing show. The review-writer feels the need to share the experience, feels that a given listserv would appreciate that music and/or understand where he or she was coming from, and targets the review at said listserv. I don't think that most people begrudge this. However, if it becomes a regular phenomenon, it becomes harder to tell what was a particularly amazing show, and the motive for posting becomes less clear. Also, it's one thing to say "Band X is really amazing; if you like Band Y, you should check them out." That's helpful, though as Bruce pointed out, it's historically been more accepted on the Nook than JanglePoets. It's a different thing to give extensive reviews (which are often meaningless to people who have never seen that band). This actually concerns artists who are regular bandmates of the Kennedys in > > the Strangelings. > > > > > This justification is so interesting to me.
