Plus titles from Strangelings/Stringbusters/Kennedys, and new (on Homespun Video) Electric Guitar For Kids DVD taught by Pete Kennedy and Marcy Marxer ************************************************************************** 1) December 07 log As a subscriber to this newsletter, you probably know about our upcoming album, "Better Dreams". It's a collection of songs that delve into the world of dreams, and our first album of all original songs in seven years. This CD is due out on January 22nd, but here's a heads-up, just for our subscribers. We smuggled a box of advanced copies out of the warehouse, and we will make them available for sale at the Irvington Town Hall concert this Friday, November 30, in Irvington, NY. After that show, we'll put any remaining copies up for sale on our web site, just in time for holiday gift-giving. The word is that tickets for the show are going fast, but there are still a few good seats left. See tour calendar, below, for details. The first day of December will find Pete and Maura Kennedys swingin alter-ego, the Stringbusters at The Pioneer Arts Center of Easthampton (P.A.C.E.), Easthampton, MA. The night will be one of glittering glamor and lavish opulence; with the kind of entertainment that only two ukuleles and a mellifluous voice can provide. Actually, it will be a night of high-spirited jamming and outright tomfoolery, as Pete and Maura unleash their twin ukes on a set of tunes from the great swing era of the 20s and 30s, with an emphasis on early Billie Holiday masterpieces, Django-styled Parisian swing, and highly unlikely uke showcases like Rhapsody in Blue and Beethovens Fifth Symphony. Backing the duo on bass will be Ray Mason, one of the Lonesome Brothers, and a legend in his own right in Western Mass; and fellow Strangeling, the young and groovy Eric Lee on fiddle. This will be the last Stringbusters show in the Northeast until the New York Uke Festival, in early April, so get your tickets now, and start searching the attic for your grandads double-breasted suit; Lindy-Hopping will be encouraged! ************************************************************************** 2) Tour Calendar for December 2007 -- We begin our southeastern winter tour in January, so catch us in the northeast now, or wait until spring!
