The Strangelings are hot off the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival mainstage! Expect more tour dates for The Strangelings! For now, you can pick up the debut CD on our website www.KennedysMusic.com. You will also be able to order copies at CDBaby in a few days. ************************************************************* 2) Tour Diary: The Stringbusters Hit TownAn Urban Fable Tricky Sam from Framingham was riding his old Columbia Sportser, a three speed, through Davis Square. It was a hot day in Cambridge, and the sweat was soaking the back of Sams Red Sox jersey. He was new in town, and didnt know what was goin down, so he was lookin round for some happenin sounds, when he ran into Camp Street Kenny, a Bosstown veteran. Whats up? was Sams unimaginative opening gambit. Whats up? countered Kenny, almost dropping his latte, You are, my man, you are, and you dont even know it. Sam fingered his Sturmey-Archer gearshift, uncertain of his next move. Im new in town, fresh off the Masspike, and Im lookin for a source of income, some decent clothes, and an apartment. Kenny looked upon his suburban brother with pity. First off, you need to learn how to communicate. What you are in search of is a stack, a rack, and a shack. Got it? But youre not gonna find any of those things until you get hip to the happening sound. Oh yes! Sams ey es lit up, But where, my friend is this sound goin down? Camp Street Kenny took a long slow pull off his triple latte. It's goin' down at Johnny D's, and tonight is the hippest gig of them all. For tonight, my T-riding friend, is the debut of The Stringbusters". Tricky Sam was a deer in teh headlights. "The Who"? Kenny roared at him, "The Stringbusters! The gonest aggregation of retro-hipsters ever to inhabit the more rockin' realms of this sweet, swingin' sphere! They can make a ukulele sound like the BSO, and make the BSO sound like a ukulele! They play Hencrix on instruments that could fit into your empty wallet, my man, and legend has it that Maura, the swingin' moll of this stringbustin' mob, hula hoops while wailing on teh uke. If youo're lookin' for the happening sound, this is it!" Kenny calmed down, and regained his cool. "Now, if you're ready to witness these gone cats and kitty as they fracture the frets, we'll proceed on to Somerville, where Johnny D has prepared a musical feast fit for a swingin' king. After that , we'll look into your stack, your rack, and your shack." And so the twosome, Tricky Sam on his Columbia, and Camp Street Kenny on his Trek, set off in search of the gonest, sweetest, swingingest band that ever rocked the uke, The Stringbusters at Johnny D's. (with The Lovell Sisters.
