For those of you who have attended Falcon Ridge in the past, you may have seen us perform a kids show or two. We decided to take it a step further this year by creating a whole band, and writing a bunch of new rock 'n roll kids songs. We've even been recording as The Snacks over the past few weeks and are pleased to say that we'll have an EXTREMELY limited number of The Snacks debut CD: Meet The Snacks: Rock 'n Roll for Kids. We wanted you to be the first to know, as they may not last long in the CD tent, and we wanted the JanglePoets to have the advantage! These CDs are not available anywhere else, not even on our web page, so this is your only opportunity for the time being to pick up The Snacks! This was written prior to your announcement that the Strangelings would be coming at 5PM. I just want Jangle-Poets to know what a great job John has done again this year getting classy acts like the Strangelings to visit the GFP. There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make this possible. Is there any Jangle-Poet out there who would be willing to pick up a copy of this album for me (my daughter)? The only concert my 3-year old has been to was a Kennedys house concert, so this would be a real treat for her. Every day she "tells" me what to play on the ride home - her "playlist" consists of Stand, Gentle Arms of Eden, Great Day, and any number of Nields' songs from All Together Singing in the Kitchen. If anyone is willing/able to help, please e-mail me off-list. Maybe I am alone here, but I am mildly concerned about the JanglePoets knowing about this first. Simply because many Kennedys fans do not have kids (but will buy the CD anyway since it will assuredly be fun and it's a "collectible"), and many FRFF parents are not JanglePoets. And it would be sad if some kids saw "The Snacks" on Saturday and really loved them, and upon rushing to the CD tent, they discovered that the CDs were sold out because they were bought up on Thursday and Friday by fans in the know. So I, for one, am SUPER excited about acquiring both the Strangelings and the Stringbusters CDs at Falcon Ridge (I heard the latter for the first time last weekend, and it's f'amazing). But as happy as I am that TK are releasing an album for kids, since good kids music can be hard to find, I probably won't be buying a Snacks CD. Or if I did, it would be a birthday present for my six-year-old friend in my neighborhood. ~'becca On 7/24/07, Sheila Turner wrote: > > From the Kennedys: > > Hi, all, > For those of you attending this year's Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in > Hillsdale NY this coming weekend, you may have noticed a new band name > announced for both Saturday and Sunday on the family stage: The Snacks. > For those of you who have attended Falcon Ridge in the past, you may > have seen us perform a kids show or two.
