With temperature and humidity conspiring to make the grounds of Lynch Park *feel* like a "Ring of Fire," concertgoers and picnickers young and old huddled under canopies and every other available spot of shade. Boy did those oceanside breezes come as a welcome relief when they came blowing! Aargh, aargh! While we dodged sunshine in the shade, C&M set the stage on fire with one of the longest shows I'd seen them do. Wildest Sea Summertime 3 Day Ride (my request!) Old Man of the Mountain Promise Wayfaring Stranger The Mountain Edelweiss Lines of Longitude Lift Up Your Voice & Sing Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash) Harvest Moon Tanglewood Tree This Land Is Your Land (Meredith lead vocal on many verses) Clearwater Hallelujah First Step Closer To Fine (Indigo Girls) Black-Eyed Susan Ain't No Grave Neruda Things We Said Today (Beatles) Georgia on My Mind Autumn Leaves Hand on the Plow Meredith's singing and playing had lost none of their zest after her maternity leave layoff, and her flute solos were as refreshing and cool as a sea-breeze on a hot summer's day. And I got to meet Zachary, her second son, born in May. For this show, Andy Brewster lent expert assistance on upright bass. So close I can almost taste it -- Chris Thompson, together with Rebecca Hall & Ken Anderson, join TK onstage next week as the Strangelings in their Falcon Ridge debut!
