So many New England venues. I'd never taken in either venue before, either Waltham or Wilmington. This was Chris Thompson and Kathryn Lively's second show as the Livelys, although it was billed on the Oasis Coffeehouse website as their debut. Kathryn had to be rushed into service to do the first Livelys show 3 weeks ago when Meredith's baby was born. Luke MacNeil opened. Hallelujah First Step Tanglewood Tree One People Lines of Longitude Flashlight The Mountain Old Man of the Mountain Wayfaring Stranger Nobody Knows You When You're Down & Out Lift Up Your Voice & Sing I Shall Be Released Clearwater Long Black Veil (Kathryn lead vocal) Ring of Fire (Chris lead vocal) An impressive encore of 2 Johnny Cash classics! There is already some talk about a Livelys CD. After the show, Chris told me she thought Rebecca & Ken would be on the Strangelings CD, contrary to the impression I got 2 days ago. I'm already looking forward to the 4/5 Strangelings show in Lancaster on the 24th, when C&M are scheduled to open for TK. And that is an outdoor fireworks show, every year! It was the '05 Fireworks show at Lancaster where C&M sang "Bend in the River" just before TK went on, the show that changed everything for me -- the one I now view as the Birth of the Strangelings.
