It had opened fairly recently, as I recall, and I believe The Kennedys were the first concert to be held in this interesting art gallery/listening room, situated in the Old Town area of Lansing. This area was in the early stages of its re-birth as a funky arts and entertainment district, and the Creole Gallery, owned by Robert Busby, was one of the anchors of this redevelopment. We saw the Kennedys perform there again in 2002. I only visited the place on those two occasions, since it was a good four hour drive from Columbus, Ohio. As a long time subscriber to the Creole Gallery's e-mail list, I was stunned today to learn of Mr. Busby's murder this past week. From a distance I offer my thoughts and prayers to his partner Meegan, and all the Lansing area arts supporters and music fans who had the opportunity to enjoy the warmth and hospitality of this wonderful man and his venue. To get a flavor of just how important he was to the Lansing arts scene, google his name. You'll find quite a few articles of tribute worth reading. Thanks.) Hey, all -- Eddie from Ohio is playing at the Somerville Theater in Somerville, Massachusetts at 8:00 TONIGHT, March 3, 2007. It's really short notice, but one member of our party can't come to the show, and we have ONE extra ticket to give away. The seat is in about the center of the orchestra center section. The show is NOT sold out: as of now, 9:45 Saturday morning. I plan to be home until at least 4:00 this afternoon, and will check email frequently until then. - -- "We are all lying in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -- Oscar Wilde Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V9 #24 *********************************
