It was A Shot in the Dark. tm Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Nov 2006 08:08:07 -0600 From: "Marsik, Theresa" Subject: [JP] Carrick house concert 11-5-06 I was hoping that Frank Hartge would post, because I knew that in the whirlwind of getting back to work after being on maternity leave I would forget things....Bear with me. The concert started at 4pm, so we decided to take our 2-1/2 year old daughter, Hannah, to her very first show. The show was opened by Annie & Rod Capps. I've seen them open for a few people at The Ark and enjoy them. They are from the Ann Arbor area and play a lot of venues in southeast Michigan, so they were well known to the crowd. I think they played about 5 songs. After a 15 minute break, Pete & Maura took the stage. I haven't seen them for a year and it was great to see them again. When Pete started playing Life Is Large, Hannah said "He plays FAST!" It was pretty cute. She was a bit overwhelmed by the crowd so my husband took her upstairs for part of the 1st set, and I took her upstairs for the last couple songs of the second set. I had told Maura that Hannah has a ukulele (because the size fits her better than a kids guitar), so when Pete & Maura played their ukes, Maura dedicated it to Hannah. Hannah looked at me and my husband and then said "this song is mine?" This setlist is from memory, so it is by no means complete or in order: Life Is Large Wall of Death Get It Right with, I guess you'd say, an interlude of "What's Going On" Namaste Dharma Cafe Stand River of Fallen Stars Shearwater Orange Blossom Special One Heart, One Soul (my request) 9th Street Billy This Moment Eight Miles High Sin City Chimes of Freedom Gypsy Rose Midnight Ghost Didn't It Rain Encore: Eight Days a Week It was a fun show and we were so happy to be able to share it with our daughter. Hopefully, it'll be the first of many concerts for her.
