Being a long-time Buffalo Springfield fan, during the break between sets at the second show I asked if the title of the Stephen Stills song they're covering on the upcoming album was still a secret. Not only did Pete reveal the title, but they decided on the spot to include it the second set. We thus became the first folks ever to hear their live performance of "Pretty Girl Why" (from the Last Time Around album). Pete also noted that Stills has yet to receive the appreciation he deserves for his song-writing. - -- "This life ain't like an arrow--you don't wind up where you aim."--Bruce Henderson, "Running Out of Light" from Beyond the Pale Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Jul 2006 12:55:51 -0400 From: "Frank Hartge" Subject: Re: [JP] Stills cover Thanks for the update! What a great choice! I was kind of rooting for Thoroughfare Gap, Stills' great song of optimism in the face of everyday adversity, (and a perfect Kennedys theme!) Can't wait for the new album! Dear Kennedys fans, As we approach Falcon Ridge time, I noticed a blank space in the Kennedy's schedule. Will this be the year of "No Pete and Maura?" Or will it be like two years ago when P&M provided the biggest highlight of the festival (Sunday morning's gospel stage doing "Stand") even though they weren't officially on the bill? I, for one, cannot imagine Falcon Ridge without them.
