Oops, maybe it was the other way around. As Arlo says, it's the folk process. He said that his dad, Woody. figured that if he should sing a song, it would help if the audience already knew the melody!! (Get it Right is one of my very favorite Kennedys songs, especially as part of a medley!) Funny, at one of the NoHo First Night Nields shows, Nerissa used those exact same words, "the folk process," to describe the new album they're presently recording. "All Together Singing in the Kitchen," Nerissa and Katryna's latest project, is an album of "new traditional" songs, explicitly (as Nerissa indicated) inspired by Bob Dylan's reworkings of other people's stuff and calling it "Bob Dylan" songs. She basically said that if it was good enough for him, her favorite singer-songwriter, it was good enough for her. :-) Bruce Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V8 #6 ********************************
