I don't usually do this on the Jangle-poets, but this was a really fun memory. I wish I understood Kennedys chronology half as well as I do Nields History. I'm doing a regular column on the Nields Nook this year called "This Day in Nields History," last done on a regular basis by me in 1999, also on the Nook. I've sort of cornered the market on Nields History, so that the Nields website _www.nields.com_ (http://www.nields.com/) refers to me somewhere as "Bruce Palmatier, Nields Historian." :-) I posted a review of this show of TK at the Mozaic Room in Avon MA two years ago today, 1/10/04, on the Nields and Kennedys lists. I used to routinely cross-post reviews to both of those lists since TN and TK are so close. Unfortunately I can't find the original review, but I have my notes from my little red notebook. The Avon show was actually the Kennedys, Chris & Meredith Thompson, and Cadence Carroll, playing during a Patriots-Titans playoff game. Pete was joking during the show about what to call the ensemble, since all 5 performed together on so many songs. Some of the following were my own creation -- Pete's Angels A Mighty Wind 4 Shes and a He Pete and the 4 Bitching Babes Evolutionary Ensemble Folk Quintet Cadence & the Evolution Band CC and the Sunshine Band It was a fantastic show! Here's what everybody played. Cadence w/ TK -- Little Bit of Green We're All Made of Rain Have Faith Sunday Afternoon Love Chris & Meredith Thompson w/ Cadence & TK -- Wildest Sea Old Man in the Mountain Harvest Moon Tanglewood Tree Amazing Grace Kennedys -- Bend in the River Raindrop When I Go Anna & the Magic Gown Orange Blossom Special Instr. Medley Round Robin Workshop Jam -- Wood & Stone Miracle Mile First Step Evolve Clearwater Get It Right What's Going On River of Fallen Stars Stand Sirens Life is Large 8 Days a Week (encore) Cadence and the Kennedys always bring out the best in each other, and it was even better with Chris and Meredith thrown into the mix for good measure. Everyone was just beaming with enthusiasm, so happy to be performing together for such a special show. In the words of a line from a song by the Nields, "What Are We For If Not For This?" :-) Bruce Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V8 #3 ********************************
