But this year the Kennedys had an extra-special opening act, their friends and fellow musicians Chris and Meredith Thompson. And this year there was a kiddie mosh pit of "interpretative dancers" dancing along to the righteous grooves of the Kennedys throughout their whole set. In a word, this Lancaster show was so much FUN...! :-) Half a Million Miles Namaste Midnight Ghost Live Everything's On Fire *** I Found a Road (DEBUT) *** Gypsy Rose (DEBUT of Dave Carter cover) *** Galveston (Jimmy Webb song dedicated to Jacob Palmatier, my nephew killed in Iraq) Anna & the Magic Gown (w/ Meredith Thompson) Stand (w/ C&M) Love Train (w/ C&M) Air Guitar (w/ C&M) Twist & Shout (w/ C&M) I Saw Her Standing There (w/ C&M) Maura Be Good (w/ C&M) Pete and Maura also joined Chris and Meredith onstage for 3 songs near the end of their opening set -- "Bend in the River," "Wood & Stone," and "Clearwater," on which Pete lent a nice lead guitar solo. Chris joined the kiddie mosh pit in front of the stage during "Anna & the Magic Gown" while her sister Meredith played flute, percussion, and lent background vocals. The Kennedys and the Thompson twins have got such a groovy thing going on whenever they perform together, the joy is positively infectious! :-) Maura told the audience that the new song, "I Found a Road," was sung to her in a dream by Lesley Gore, not just once, but twice! :-) And after the show Maura told me that TK should have pre-release copies of their upcoming CD "Half a Million Miles" available at Falcon Ridge, presumably for sale at the festival only. I forgot to say "Life is Large," between "Stand" and "Love Train." Well duh! That was the point I jumped into the kiddie mosh pit myself, inspired by Chris Thompson's example, and so I forgot to write down the song, "Life is Large." :-) Bruce Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Jun 2005 19:09:22 -0400 From: woodelldc@aol.com Subject: [JP] Curtis Arboretum show Hey, fellow JPs, Anyone here know anything about this show/venue? July 10. It looks doable for us, unless it's outside with hot and humid weather, then Fran's asthma can kick in, and we'd have to miss it. "Our album ("Half a Million Miles") will be available at Falcon Ridge in full form, artwork, etc. I just found out that I may be getting them even earlier (as in a few days from now). As soon as I have them, we'll put them for sale on our web site. Appleseed Records told us we could sell in advance to our peoples, so get the word out if you like."
