My youngest son is an artillery officer in the Army, currently in training with an infantry division for deployment to Iraq in the fall. It's certainly not the path I would have chosen for him but I can only love him and pray for him. I know this doesn't help much right now, but I greatly appreciate the sacrifice our military makes to protect our freedom, especially those that make the ultimate sacrifice. I'm also comforted by the knowledge that there are so many young men and women like Jack's son willing to volunteer to do the dangerous work of protecting the rest of us.
