The one-of-a-kind Cadence Carroll, the headlining Kennedys, and the utterly fantastic surprise guest artist Nerissa Nields! This was what Peter, Stephen, and I saw at the Pioneer Arts Center of Easthampton Saturday night. Cadence's set Little Bit of Green w/ Maura We're All Made of Rain When I Awake Last of the Great Whales (The Last Leviathan) w/ Pete Evolve w/ P&M Kennedys set 1 Dharma Cafe Can't Kill Hope with a Gun w/ Nerissa Nields River of Fallen Stars w/ Cadence Easy People Half a Million Miles 9th Street Billy w/ Cadence Midnight Ghost When I Go Anna & the Magic Gown Medley Stand w/ Cadence Kennedys set 2 Bend in the River w/ Cadence Feather in the Flame w/ Cadence Namaste Half of Us Nuah w/ Cadence Dance Around in the Rain w/ Cadence Pilgrim w/ Cadence Celebration (Iraqi poem read by Maura) How Will I Ever Be Simple Again (Richard Thompson song) Wall of Death (Richard Thompson song) And Your Bird Can Sing (Beatles) Sirens incorporating Purple Haze w/ Cadence Life is Large w/ Cadence 8 Days a Week (Beatles) w/ Cadence (encore) The rarely-heard "Feather in the Flame" and the even more rarely-heard "Pilgrim" were both impressive with Cadence Carroll rounding out the opulence on harmony vocals. When I saw the full moon darting in and out of the clouds after the show - -- so reminiscent to me of TN's Good Friday show 4/14/95 and the Smith College Loreena McKennitt show 11/16/94 -- I knew that this was truly a Once in a Very Blue Moon type of show.
