Both shows were vivid reminders that these are two incredibly talented musicians. Jeff from Charlotte March 18, Six String Cafe, Cary, NC Girlyman opened Set 1: Dharma Cafe Ashes and Sand (great wah wah solo by Pete) Easy People Get it Right/What's Goin'On/River of Fallen Stars (great jam at the end) Dancing Around in the Rain Shearwater And Your Bird Can Sing When I Go (Only one guitar by Pete) Anna and the Magic Gown (Irish-based intro) (amazing sounds coming out of Pete's guitar) Stand Set 2: Bend in the River Didn't it Rain (introduced as "If Ralph Stanley was a Buddhist") Angelfire (extraordinary guitar work) Wall of Death New song about "Jesus on east 12th Street," (with intro about how this new magazine, Esopus, has a cd inside, with a theme. P&M had to write a song based on the "missed connections personal ads" and they chose one about seeing Jesus in NYC. Funny, poignant, with a finger-snapping sound. Different, and wonderful.) Jesse (Maura on lead) Fog (written after walking through a herd of deer on a foggy night.) Sirens Encore: (with Girlyman) Eight Days a Week Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Mar 2004 19:12:39 -0500 From: "Passe, Jeff" Subject: [JP] Charlotte show March 19, Evening Muse, Charlotte, NC Set 1: Dharma Cafe Ashes and Sand Easy People River of Fallen Stars Can't Kill Hope with a Gun Shearwater And Your Bird Can Sing Pick You Up When I Go Anna and the Magic Gown Stand Set 2: Life is Large (dedicated to Rhiannon) Didn't it Rain New song about "Jesus on East 12th Street" Wall of Death One Heart, One Soul Sirens Encore: Eight Days a Week Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V6 #24 *********************************
