IN THIS ISSUE: 1) Last month tour diary 2) Kennedys December touring schedule 3) Mercantile 4) Find radio station in your area that plays The Kennedys music ******************************************* 1) Last month's tour diary ******************************************* The great Irish poet William Butler Yeats once said, "Who among the wise would trouble himself with making laws if the things of eternity seemed ready at handb&it is perhaps well that so few believe in it, for if they did many would go out of parliaments and libraries and run into the wilderness"! We haven't run off into the wilderness yet, but we have been on the road. Mid-November marked our return to Ohio, the Buckeye State, catching up with old friends at WAPS in Akron, WCBE in Columbus, and touching down at WNKY in Newport KY, and the internationally syndicated Acoustic CafC) program out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lots of great live gigs during the month, as well. The Turning Point in Piermont, NY was a raucous, riotous sellout, followed by another great sold-out show at Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA. Tour stops at Andy's, The Richmond Songwriter Series, and the lovely new Arts Barn in Gaithersburg, MD rounded out the month. A highlight for us was the show with Nanci Griffith and Julie Gold at Sanders Theater, Harvard University. We shared the first half of the night in the round with Nanci, Julie, and Nanci's bass player, Le Ann Ethridge, a fine songwriter in her own right. Julie sang a moving version of her classic, "From a Distance", and for the second half of the show, we all joined forces with Nanci for a set of her classics, including "Love at the Five and Dime", "Listen to the Radio", "It's a Hard Life", and Kate Wolf's "Across the Great Divide". The show was a benefit for the Campaign for a Landmine-Free World, and we were all proud to take part in raising money for this vital cause. Thanksgiving found us celebrating the traditional harvest with family in central New York. For us, the harvest came this year in the form of appreciative letters, emails and reviews in the wake of "Stand". The knowledge that our songs are received as a positive message of myth, mystery, and magic in a world mired in moronic media and mirthless, mindless, misanthropic misery, is our musical bumper crop. We take this opportunity to thank all of you for being there to hear these songs with your ears, and, hopefully, your hearts. Be sure to check our website www.kennedysmusic.com for future dates and up-to-the-minute news! ******************************************* 2) KENNEDYS DECEMBER TOURING SCHEDULE: ******************************************* Saturday, December 6, 2003 - Common Ground Coffeehouse, Bryn Athyn, PA 19009.
