The CDs are remastered and sound great. The bonus tracks on River of Fallen Stars include previously unreleased items like "Fog" (covered by Mary Sue Twohy on her last album), "Belfast", and instrumental tracks of "River" and "Spirit Compass." Life is Large includes acoustic mixes of the title track, "One Heart One Soul", "St Marks Square", and the rare radio only single "And Your Bird Can Sing"! In all, a great treat for long time Kennedys fans. But I will have to admire from afar for the time being. Having just bought both within the last couple of years, having bought a new range over the summer, having bought a new water heater last week and having plans to buy a refrigerator by year's end, I cannot afford to spend $ on those cds again. Yay for Pete and Maura, but I feel quite irritated about this whole process of enticing people to buy different versions of the same cd. I know that there are probably some We're About 9 fans out there who are not on their mailing list... So I thought I'd include this part of their mailer, so that those people can go check this out. Also featured is Kate McD, as a judge. Check out the chapters, "final rounds" and "lingering medodies" for a little bit of WA9 and Kate. YAY! - -rhiannon (sorry if this has already been said) Here is what Brian from WA9 had to say in the email list. - ----------------------------------------------------- Hey Friends, Very exciting day for us! http://www.usatoday.com/life/graphics/new_song/flash.htm The above is a link to a really beautiful multi-media presentation on the USA Today website. Katie and I (Brian) are both prominently featured in this, which is flattering since USA Today is one of the world's most read news sources. But the thing that's really got us choked up his how beautifully crafted this presentation is, and what a great contribution it is to the promotion of the genre. 1. Katie is featured in the main presentation, "SING MY SONG." 2. Brian is featured in the "ART OF SONGWRITING" Documentary (click on the Art of Songwriting tab). 3. We're both featured in the "SOME OF THE MUSICIANS" profiles section (click on the "Some of the Musicians Tab") - including lyrics and solo performance, live recordings of "Slow Sliding Funk" and "For One More." (plus a really cool lyrics display and more). 4. AND you're given an opportunity to vote for your favorite song from a list of the top five winners from the New Song Festival. One of those songs is "For One More." All of these are great songs, and I recommend checking them all out - and then vote for whichever one you like best. If you like mine best, then yahoo:) They will publish the results on Friday, which means more great publicity for us should "For One More" end up the big winner. To vote - click on the "YOU PICK THE WINNER" tab, and then click "vote for your favorite performance now."
