Although I live only about 20 miles away on the North Shore, I was unable to go. I had to stay at home and help my son study for an Advanced Placement test about the Dutch Republic. Two hours of testing and much yawning from my part will hopefully lead to a good grade. Maybe someday when my kids are on their own I'll once again be able to attend shows of folks like the Kennedys, the Nields, Nanci Griffith, Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell, Dar Williams.....hey do I need to do go on? But for now, the kids and their college intentions are my first priorities. I appreciated the review too. Keep 'em coming! I find it more and more difficult to attend pricey theater shows anymore. I used to try to make every show I could. But "romance without finance" as they say. So I have to be a lot more picky in these hard times. The hard times make my likelihood of seeing Conehead at a show scarce to none too. I enjoyed the days of seeing him almost every weekend up here in the NE. As Mary Hopkin so wistfully sang, "Those Were the Days." After my last expensive Sanders Theater show when I paid a scalper to see TN play 5 songs, I said "Never Again." I get more bang for my limited buck sitting eight to eighteen feet from TN or TK in a reasonably priced folk club, glowing on the inside, not only from the glorious music and the great ambience of the small folk club, but also from thinking how much money I'm saving by paying a modest $15 instead of an immodest $40.
