Perhaps 1/4 of the audience was in costume (it was sometimes hard to tell if some people were in costume or just always dressed like that ;]). Besides a Grim Reaper, witch, cat, tiger, pirate, horned fairy, colorful art project, guy in a tie-skirt, Indiana Jones, etc, there were a couple of music-related costumes as well. Cone was dressed as Joziah (from Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams), or rather as Joziah's alter-ego "Ho-ziah," complete with the hat, the hair, and the moustache shaved in the middle. Maura and Pete were Anna and Renard the Fox (from "Anna and the Magic Gown")! Besides the magic gown, Maura was bedecked in a wig of long "golden locks," a flowery wreath, and copious eye makeup. I literally didn't recognize her for a minute. Pete was dressed in all black, along with a red velvet cape, red shoes, a red beret-type-hat, and a fox half-mask. Awesome. Joziah and Sharkey opened, and they were quite well-received. After the break, The Kennedys just did one long set. As per usual it seems, they started with mostly newer songs and then opened the show to requests (though they only played six new songs total). When Maura did her guitar solo, Pete acknowledged her as "Dolly Parton on the guitar." On the stage, The Kennedys had hung a set of flags pictorially featuring a variety of religions, which seems appropriate while promoting "Stand." Additionally, there was a jack-o-lantern with an intricate carving of The Point's logo, which was uber-cool. If anyone has pictures, they should post them online and give us the URL. ~Rebecca Who wonders if anyone who wasn't at the show actually reads the reviews Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 02 Nov 2003 23:14:58 -0500 From: Gordon Nash Subject: Re: [JP] Halloween at The Point Did someone ask for pics?
