Nerissa's songwriting class, held Wednesday nights at the Pioneer Arts Center of Easthampton has been extended for another four weeks (info below). Songwriting Workshop with Nerissa Nields Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:30 pm, March 12 - April 9 or Thursday, April 10 Taught by one of the most respected songwriters of her generation. Nerissa will help you hone your personal style with a focus on both lyrics and melody. This class is open to all skill levels. Cost: $120 E-mail us at pace@pioneerarts.org Or call us at 413-527-3700 And really, when they say all skill levels, they mean it, b/c *I'M* in the class, and as long as I continue to occupy a chair there, no one else need have ANY worries about talent. ;-) It's been a really great four weeks so far, very supportive, very encouraging....everyone in the class kicks butt, and we're not allowed to say anything bad about each other (or about ourselves), so it's a very gentle process, and everyone is SO good, it's like going to an open mic house concert every week. To cover details that were kind of iffy for the first session, for anyone thinking of signing up, bring a guitar (or instrument of your choice -- the center has a piano, though it's in desperate need of tuning, so if you're a keyboard player and have one of your own, you might want to bring that instead) and a notebook to the first class and, you should really be prepared to sing a song that you've written (while performance isn't technically required, it is STRONGLY encouraged, and it'll probably be guaranteed that you'll end up playing in front of the class before the end of the four weeks is out anyway). It really has been a lot of fun. I'd be happy to answer any questions off Nook (or on, if they seem to have universal appeal).
