Just got home from the 8th Birthday Party of the best radio station in the Lehigh Valley, PA, WDIY. (Visit them at www.wdiy.org) There was a Nook Quorum present, as Cone, his friend Katrina, Kate and myself were all there. This was a totally free evening, and provided food, drink and music for 4 hours. This was my first time there, but it will definitely not be my last. There were 3 groups that played...I missed most of the first one, and I don't know their name, but I bet that Kate or Cone can fill that in for me somewhere along the way. The second group was called ACCO, A Chorus Celebrating Women. These ladies were phenomenal! The finale, and best part of the evening, IMHO, was the performance of Pete and Maura Kennedy. I didn't copy a setlist, but I'll try to remember as much as I can...not in order, of course... :-) Life is Large River of Fallen Stars Get it Right Stand (New!) Anna and the Magic Gown (New!) Easy People (Nields Content!!!!) Coo-Coo The Dharma Cafi (New!) And they covered a whole bunch of stuff... What's Going On? Saw Her Standing There Bad Moon Rising 8 Days a Week She Loves You Love Train Happy Birthday I think I remembered most of it....they were rocking the house down...people were dancing and clappingand singing....it was incredible. Not only was it a great show to see, but it was also broadcasted live on the station as well as streamed on the Internet. An added bonus was that I took along my friend Stacey, who had never heard the Kennedys before, but liked them so much that she bought some CD's and had them autograph one. Another successful folk conversion! Yay4Yay! Okay, I'm tired and getting incoherent....off to bed! Love to all, Shannon Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V5 #4 ********************************
