That was almost completely unrehearsed too. I already knew that *Pete* played guitar that well --- and here I thought that SW was just a *piano* virtuoso. Wow. << Live At Tin Angel was a real eye-opener for me. Just listened to it for the first time about two weeks ago. I enjoyed the first CD I heard by SW, "Time Between Trains" but didn't appreciate "Last Of The Good Straight Girls" as much, so I wasn't in a big hurry to continue backward and get the earlier CDs, though I like her enough that I've always intended to get them sooner or later. Then I came across LATA in LL Bean in Freeport on my way home from the last, brief trip I made to Maine in early October. Susan must have played LL Bean's Friday evening free concert series this summer and left behind some mementoes. Since it was staring me in the face, I went ahead and bought it. From the sound of that CD, she was already giving an intense performance in 1993. Both LOTGSG and TBT are low key by comparison. New Non-Fiction is a little closer, but even that is low key compared to Live At Tin Angel. Just one more reason - not that I needed another one - to be gritting my teeth at the thought that I'm missing this KNiElDy'sW tour.
