It was TK opening for TN, 5/9/96. I was just showing Pete the Kennedys set list from that show, which I somehow managed to snag. I was totally blown away by TK at that show, where they were playing mostly "Life Is Large" material with a full band. TK sound fantastic with full band. They toured with a band, playing with TN, in late April, early May 2000 too. It later took me a while to get used to the duo, and to even realize that TK *were* a duo and not a band. But I finally "got it," when TK became my drug of choice in 4/01, during Katryna's maternity leave. :-) TN's stopping touring really did me a huge favor, in retrospect. I was even *saying* all along that if it weren't for my prior commitment to TN, I most certainly would've chosen to follow TK as long ago as '96, when I first got an earful of their music. :-) Bruce Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Nov 2002 00:06:20 EST From: Nieldsforever@aol.com Subject: [JP] The upcoming 1st of 7 HaHaHa shows: the Cutting Room 12/5 I'm getting very excited about the Summer In December Nields-Kennedys show in NYC on 12/5. Knowing what I now know about the Kennedys, I try *never* to miss a Nields-Kennedys show if I can help it, and I already try to make as many individual Nields and Kennedys shows as I can. It's like killing two birds with one stone, when they team up. "Double your pleasure, double your fun..." "Plenty good, Charlie!" :-) If I succeed in making this show, it will be the very first show by anyone that I've seen in NYC since I moved to Boston late in '01. This Cutting Room show is on a Thursday night, but the old Thursday night work conflict is no longer there, and this will be on the way to the Birchmere the next day. I wish I could make all the Cadence and Kennedys shows in and about NYC. But I haven't even seen TN in or about NYC since last year. I knew that would happen when I moved to Boston. But I'm making a special effort for this one. Bern was at the only other Cutting Room show I've been to, TK with Mary Lou's Corvette. I haven't seen Conehead at *any* NY shows in about 2 years, nor at any Kennedys shows in quite a while --- but I'm hoping for the best for Thursday night, 12/5, come what may. :-) Bruce Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ End of jangle-poets-digest V4 #136 **********************************
