I've seen The Kennedys 2xs outside of Falcon Ridge and both times they were kind enough to grant my wish/request. The 1st time was in PA, when they played Jessie and the 2nd time was at NERFA @ The XFS showcase, when I yelled out "Didn't It Rain"... I *love* that song :-) Each time I hear it,it brings me back to the very 1st time I heard them play it HAHAHA style at the Greenwich Odeum in RI... now that was a moment to remember :-) TK's also played their version of Easy People Sat night which I enjoyed completly, but missed hearing Life Is Large... since that song to me is TK's Easy People... A song that should be played at every show, imho.... but Pete & Maura had only so much time and really did try to play as much as possible within that time frame (damn time frames). I was sad to have missed Cadences performances Saturday night... but I just couldn't leave the XFS showcase, it was just too much fun in the Deep End Lounge. I hope I get to see Cadie play again soon though... she's great :-) ~ April There's no protection on the midnight train ~ TK Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 22:43:08 EST From: Fantine729@aol.com Subject: [JP] WUMB 2002 countdown I was listening to WUMB's annual countdown this afternoon, after just coming out of the grocery store, and what should I immediately hear on starting the car? The refrains of "Life is Large," immediately followed by "Nickletown." Pete and Maura have snagged slot #66 (Highway 66 Revisited?? :-) in 'UMB's 2002 Top 100 Performer Countdown ("Celebrating 20 Years of Folk Radio"). Last year, in the station's 2001 "A Folk Odyssey" Top 100 Performer Coundown, they had position #92, so they're moving up the ranks!! There was probably a third song played before "Life is Large" this afternoon, but I had missed it. There's more information about this year's countdown below, and all of the countdown lists since 1998 can be found at the website (http://www.wumb.org), which also has live webcasting!
