[Nieldsforever@aol.com] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 25 Oct 2002 11:19:08 EDT From: Nieldsforever@aol.com Subject: [JP] Happy Birthday Maura! Just another one of my embarrassing little birthday poems... :-) Bruce HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAURA! "Good Morning Groovy!" -- a joyful sound The rooster at dawn proclaims, As morning comes to Happytown Like a Feather in the Flame. "Good cheer! Good cheer! To far and near! O hear the glad tidings so true! To all Easy People so Free and so clear, Good news I am bringing to you!" All Happytown comes from miles around To wonder at this joyful sound, And folks from as far as Nickeltown In a Common Bond are bound. The crowds cry out with a mighty shout, "Why'd you go and do it, Why? The Coo Coo sings of the strangest things! Why sing you good news to the sky?" And even angels above in the realms of love Cast down wondering thoughts from on high, Like a wonderful River of Falling Stars: "What is this?" all the Angels Cry. Down, Down, Down to Happytown Comes the curious angel choir, And their wonderment grows like the Fire and the Rose, In the dawn-golden Angel Fire. "We come to this place, a Bend in the River, Seeking redemption, searching for grace!" This is the sound of all Happytown, Where even angels have come to this place. The rooster so bold in the dawn's early cold Cries out with a voice full of pride: "O hear this glad sound, all Happytown, And all above, Ride Angels Ride! Today is the day for a joyous display! A birthday of hope, peace, and love! It fills all the earth with the gladness of mirth, And it gladdens the heavens above! This birthday, you know, is of Maura Boudreau, So frabjous with laughter and fun, And yet nailing the mark like a shot in the dark With "Can't Kill Hope With A Gun"! Wonderful songs to last our lives long, And wonderful times of good cheer --- The funny, the serious, the sad and the glad, And all because Maura is here! I want you to realize, O Happytown, How lucky we are to have Maura! So send her your best like a Galaxy Express And thank the angels above for her! But none is more lucky in all of the world Than the minstrel of dawn, Pete Kennedy --- The Don Quixote of troubadours, gentleknight, Mr. Lucky Man, With his song-singing Dulcinea so Free!" Rejoicing resounds throughout Happytown, Now knowing the rooster's true worth --- For Maura has brought joy to every girl and boy, And this joy unites heaven and earth. "Good Morning Groovy!" -- a joyful sound The cockcrow at dawn proclaims, As morning comes *each day* to Happytown Like a Feather in the Flame.
