It seemed imperative to me at the time *not* to rely on anyone else to forward Kennedys reviews, which I'd been posting to the Nields Nook since April 2001. I first "caught fire" with TK from going to a West Hartford Kennedys show that month where and when TK played "Across the Great Divide" by Kate Wolf. I thought it was synchronicity: a "significant coincidence": a "sign." Here I was grieving a 4-month layoff with No Nields --- an eternity for me - --- due to N&K playing their last duo show 3/24/01 in New Haven, their last before Katryna's having the baby, and their last before FRFF '01, by which time Katryna's maternity leave would've expired. To be frank, the Kennedys brought joy and hope and love into a lonely place, at a time when I really needed a "Pick Me Up." I've been trying to see TK whenever I could ever since that 4/01 show. Circumstances beyond my control hastened my arrival on the Kennedys list, right after FR. I'm not happy about these circumstances, but my philosophy is that I don't depend on other people for my happiness. Happiness is an attitude, and my own priorities are clear. I was so impressed with the way Pete and Maura comported themselves at FRFF '02. This was Dave & Tracy's Falcon Ridge --- and the Kennedys helped make that really really special for me. I just can't thank Pete & Maura enough for what they've done to help out Tracy, and for what they're continuing to do to spread the good word about the music of Dave Carter. I hope it'll spread like Wildfire --- like Angel Fire. I'm used to making a complete ass of myself on the Nields list, and out of respect for TK and you Jangle-Poets, I didn't want anything of the sort to happen on the Kennedys list. This Tribe is your Vibe. I'm thrilled that the Kennedys have their own Nice Little Quiet list, and I'm thrilled for all of you, that you get to be a part of the really wonderful Kennedys Scene. I'll be seeing some of you at the shows I hope, and you should expect me to pop in to say Hi on this list every once in a while too. Yay for the Kennedys, Yay for Jangle-Poets, and Y4Y!!! :-) Bruce Check out the Kennedys' Official Home Page: http://www.KennedysMusic.com/ Fab photos, the Official tour diary, dashboard Buddha haiku, groovy merchandise...what more could you ask for? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Sep 2002 22:41:58 -0400 From: "Ken Stiffler" Subject: [JP] Jammin Java Is anyone going Saturday night?
